Interesting info. Have you heard of this becoming more widespread than what’s on the forums, or have you just handled and seen the two aforementioned trucks? I would imagine anything that can cut power steering needs to be seriously looked at and considered for a recall.
It's the same on the non Limited/Longhorn headlights. I remember hearing it has to do with headlight regulations, since the "accent" led is on even when the blinkers are on, the brightness they put out had to be dimmed down. GM, for instance uses switch backs, thus turning off the white LED and...
No, I don't unfortunately. I would just contact the parts counter at your dealer to see if they can get it for you. I could be a little more if you're buying it as after the fact, I just know it's a $95 if your truck has it as an option from the factory.
Make sure to have them swap your PCM, there have been several cases where this was the fix, so it should be reasonably well documented with FCA engineersgo in with the aforementioned star case numbers to help plead your case. A new rack and power steering module did NOT fix mine or alacombes.
Think we could get a video with some revs or how it sounds from the interior? Still liking the system? I ordered the muffler but would like to hear it before I go chopping and welding the exhaust.
What did they charge you for the labor on install? Just looking to get ball park figures to see if it's worth it to just buy the mufflex version or save a few bucks and have a shop weld in the magnaflow.
From what I have gathered talking to my service advisor, if the steering is locking up like you have explained, the fix is generally to just replace the rack and EPSM, for the full steering failure like @alacombe and I experienced, it was really an issue with the PCM. Good luck getting your...
Just as an update, my clunking sound was caused by the top but on the strut not being properly torqued. The shop gave it a few turns and it is good to go now!
Thankfully it's not an actual issue. My mileage has been down since my PCM was replaced as well. I think it's probably still in a learning or breakin type mode since it got replaced, as though a new truck would. It could also be I'm using remote start a whole lot more so it idles in my driveway...
What ever happened with your clunking sound? I thought I had the normal “front end clunk” , had the TSB performed and my clunk is still there. It only happens when going ovesmaller bumps at very low speeds or turning slowly. I spoke to readylift and they suggested disassembling the strut and...
Mine was fixed by replacing the mirror, there have been no issues since replacement. I have a theory that it was damaged in a car wash/ user error. If you go through a car wash with the mirror folded in, then the wash flips the mirror out. Push the mirror back in manually so the mirror and the...
