I just got back from an RV show myself. I was impressed with this fifth wheel. Towable even for a mid sized truck.

They're old enough to be able to select the lower resolution settings on the videos so they only used about half the data after about 10 hours of driving.
That was mixed with a bit of online games and messaging friends.
You can check the usage online and will also get emails with the useage...
The nice thing about the AT&T wifi is that you can pay for a month and cancel. I'll subscribe only on the months I'm doing road trips with the kids so they have data.
It gives you 22gb at 4g speeds and then gets throttled supposedly. We used it one month on a trip and the kids watched Netflix...
I used to tow my 6000lb trailer with an Infiniti Qx56. It had very similar specs. 5.7 liter V8, 400 hp, 413 lbs torque and a 7 speed transmission. Axle ratio was 2.73! It did exceptionally well. I pulled up some pretty steep grades and still had plenty of power in reserve.
I would think that...
This is my layout. Didn't want a slide and no crawling over the spouse. 5000lb uvw, 7000 gross. 29.3" bumper to hitch. Jayco 26bh.

The yellow sticker on my trailer specifically states that the weight includes the two 30lb propane tanks, full.
Doesn't mention the battery. Not sure if that's industry standard. It's a Jayco.
Yep, no brake controller, no weight distribution or sway control. A large trailer that's empty would be worse in those winds than if it were loaded I would think.
Considering all of that it did pretty well.
I plan to do everything very safely. I'll hit the scales in the spring and see what happens. I'll post my results in a couple of months. 2000 mile road trip coming up at Easter and will likely be above the GVWR by a couple of hundred pounds.
I absolutely agree. I'm not suggesting that we exceed a number that was derived from actual engineering and structural testing. For your hypothetical hitch ball I can see that the number came from SAE J684, my axle rating SAE J2200, my tow rating SAE J2807, my tire SAE J918 etc...
All I can...
Just to add, the payload door sticker is quite useful if my wife and I jump in the truck and run to Home depot or a garden center. I can quickly take my 1350 payload and subtract our 350lb combined weight and know that I can safely throw 1000lbs (half ton by coincidence) in the bed without...
I belong to the group that got a fully loaded RAM and didn’t look at the payload sticker until it was sitting in my driveway. It’s too cost prohibitive to trade in a one month old vehicle and we like our trailer.
I spent a lot of time trying to determine why the GVWR is 7100 lbs when the...
The BUG includes the LED bed lights. I had the dealership install the factory bed lights and the total price was $265. They are not standard on a Laramie.
I consider them a must have with a tonneau cover. You might want to factor that into your decision.
