Possibly. Interestingly, enough, seems like Chevy/GM/Ford all did the same thing. See below. It's just slightly annoying I might have to buy these additional "shackles" to hook the safety chain hook to.
Shackles or hooks? I might be mistaken in saying "shackles" but I have the below hooks...
Does nothing. I am not saying it's right but if someone is stealing your truck/car, you leave your home to confront them with a firearm, and then shoot them? You're not going to need your truck because you're going to jail. Maybe in like 2-3 states you may get away with it. Even then, you'll be...
Anyone have any luck finding shackles to fit the early 5th gen hitch like below? I know it sounds dumb but it would make me feel a little better knowing I have the shackle locking all the way into the hitch.
I definitely sympathize with some of those things. However, these are like as basic as it comes. Granted, the original design and/or bolts they use suck. However, it's like basically the same principal design since the muscle car era of the 1960's and maybe even older.
But yes, there is a...
How we ended up in this spot in 2023 is beyond me. We're 3 years post-COVID. Workforce is (for the most part) back to work. How there is a shortage or rudimentary metal exhaust manifolds is beyond me.
I find it super funny that the pic/video on their site is actually of them using it on a 5.7L. You can see the steering rack. Thanks Mopar lol.
I might have to get one of these.
I believe that's what I was thinking of. I know many years ago I had been using Mobil 1 religiously thinking it was full synthetic but then being really disappointed when I realized it was not.
This is good info. I'm keeping an eye on it just for the simple fact its a common known issue. The...
I still have the tick and have never put anything but synthetic in my truck. Granted, I started with Mobil 1 which we know is "semi-synthetic." Now exclusively AmsOil which is full. I never bothered to look at the change interval. I go by the reminder on the dash. It's probably way sooner than...
Not today, but over the weekend:
Trans filter/pan change with new fluid.
Lamin-X yellow fogs.
And the ultimate sleeper mod....I flipped the coin holder around in the console.
I really need to start taking pics.
Another reason this happens is when people have hard tonneau covers like the Gator's, BakFlips, etc. It puts pressure on the tailgate. I have to push mine in a little and then hit the button. Even after lubricating. No fault of the truck though.
That's the problem lol. Getting the filter out. Trying to get it out between the motor and steering ram/rack is a sick time.
Everything on this truck is hard to work on. I just did my trans pan/filter/fluid change. Between the mess and 3rd degree burns from the exhaust I am positive the Mopar...
Yup. When people ask my mileage and I tell them, the response is "well that sucks." My wife's 2022 JGC-L with the V6 isn't that much better. We drive a similar commute to work and she gets like 17-19 mpg. You'd think it would be a lot better with the V6 and being lighter.
I have no complaints...
People seem to argue they "are crap filters" but the nut-fitting on the bottom of the K&N filter helps a ton. They run maybe $4-5 more than an average quality filter but the convenience is nice. Now if I could only find a way not to get oil all over everything. Tried the plastic bag trick and...
I seem to average 13-14mpg all around. I've gotten 20-21 on the highway. Rebel so it has the 3.92's and I have stock size KO2's which are heavy tires. Seems like I am doing OK. I drive very conservatively though. I did just install the Speedform Throttle Controller and leave it on EC.1 most of...
