I went to change the rear differential oil tonight but I don't see the fill plug, rubber or otherwise. The I found the drain plug, 14mm on the side of the diff, and you can see the location on the cover where the rubber plug typically in the attached picture.
Any ideas? Did Ram change it for...
What tricks are you guys using to loosen up the heater hose? I slid the clamp back 3" but I can't get it to break free. In the past I just cut a slit down the hose but that's when I was replacing it; I really don't want to wreck it. I twist, pull, & push but I can't get it to budge. 25k miles on...
Does anyone have instructions to remove/install the front seat base leather cover?
I have a Limited and the leather texture didn't match on the driver's seat; I was thinking they'd replace the whole base (foam and leather) but they just replaced just the leather cover and did a fairly terrible...
Attached is my AC detail 52F at the vent and 79deg outside on recirc. It's still currently at the dealer, for the first time at 25k miles, to address the recalls and a handful of issues. It's funny now with this truck that 9of10 issues are addressed with simple software updates....times are...
Attached is my UOA from Blackstone. I ran Red Line 5w-20 with a Royal Purple 10-48 filter for 7,100 miles; 15,100mi on odometer. I put in the same and will try the change at 5k miles (20k truck miles).
Copper and iron are high. Does anyone else have UOAs that are this high on copper?
Truck...
Not ideal by any means but I think you can use the Sirius guardian app and click “engine stop” for any of those time you wonder if you turned it off. I use that after I use it to turn on truck and something comes up and I won’t be leaving as soon as I thought.
Same, I parked mine outside in Milwaukee (-22) the the truck felt lethargic the whole way to work. Stiff suspension, stiff steering, and felt like getting to 60mph even after engine & trans above 100 was a struggle.
My first time with air suspension so I don’t have a comparison though.
I have it on the front passenger door at hwy speeds. It's coming from the top corner. If I turn fan recirc on then it stops so it must not be much but just enough. I'll take it to the dealer in the spring to get reviewed along with a handful of other things.
The only unsettling thing for me about Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is the additives left at the bottom of the bottle. Pennzoil says it's normal for some additives to settle out and some have said they've been able to mix it although that hasn't worked for me.
I guess I feel like if I can see the...
Fram XG10060 oil filter with the Pennzoil oil
$28 for the oil analysis portion only.
Electrical - Thanks for the feedback and additional detail. You're right, I was hoping to get a virgin report from them but no luck. There are some PUP 5w30 virgin reports out there but I couldn't find any...
$38 Total - $28 for the oil and and additional $10 for the TBN (Total Base Number ~ How many/much additives are still left in the oil). You don't need to get the TBN, I did it to see if I could go longer than 5k miles on the oil.
Blackstone sends you the kit for free and you can send it back...
Any feedback on how's the sound when MDS / Eco mode turns on?
I have stock exhaust and when I bought it I could hardly tell but now I'm either tuned into it or it's changed but I think it's awful...sounds awful and "feels" awful. I nervous to change because I'm thinking it just make it even...
Just thought I'd share my Blackstone oil analysis report with PUP 5w20 and a Fram XG10060 oil filter.
This was the 2nd oil change, first one was done at 3k miles. I'm surprised at the additives still left at 5k miles (TBN 4.7). I live in WI, park outside, and drive +75% hwy.
I'm running...
You can see the Carbon fiber vs the clear PPF and up close the PPF had imperfections. I'm sure if I had more experience with the PPF it would be fine but overall I thought the carbon fiber vinyl was easier.
Same here, I did the carbon fiber look. I tried clear but it looked ok but the bubbles didn't seem to entirely disappear.
Vinyl wrap went on good, I used a hairdryer to help form it and get it to stick.

I agree with the consensus here.
Weathertech splash guards w/fender flare fit 100% better than the official Mopar ones. Sucks that they don't have "Ram" in them but I also think that they look nicer in that the Weathertech's don't wrap around the edge.
Floormats was the opposite for me...
