LOL - the ambiguity was not on the lugs but on the “No”.
Technically, your statement has the equivalent meaning of, “there are no 8-way lugs, all the way around” - meaning, there aren’t any.
A comma after “No”, changes the meaning and indicates that the “No” is a separate response to something...
That could be interpreted two ways:
- No, it will not have 8-lugs all around.
- No, it will not have 6-lugs in front, it will have 8-lugs all the way around.
So . . . 8 lugs all around . . . on a 1500 chassis?
Having 6 up front and 8 in back might complicate the tire rotation somewhat . . . and you would need at least one of each type of spares.
Or are we looking at a medium or heavy duty TRX?
News came out about the EcoDiesel to be available toward the end of this year . . . so, if the announcements are roughly six months in advance of availability, we've still got a ways to go for any official teasers. I do like the new info about the hood and front fascia though - anxious to see...
The TRX is a 1500. The concept was at least, and all indications are the production release will be as well, though it may be borrowing some 2500 drive train parts to handle the power.
You may be right, but I get the impression Ford is more interested in playing with their battery powered toys than big V-8s. Mike Manley is also on record as saying the future of the Dodge performance brand will not be 700 horsepower gas engines. Some are predicting the current/next...
Good point - of course, that would be just my luck to sink a crap load of money that I can't really afford into something only to have something else better come out two years later. As to the competition, I don't get the impression they're interested in a horsepower performance war. They...
So the rumor persists that the 426/7.0L Ram Rebel TR is shelved (no contradictions since that report). Perhaps they decided that . . . the 426 Hemi (as cool as that sounds) just wasn't enough? Maybe, what we will get are the following:
- Ram Rebel TRX (Supercharged 6.2L)
- Ram Rebel TRX Redeye...
Why store a mule under cover?
So that would be a "no" then on the truck shown (mule) having the wider track? The covering concealed it well, but I was basing my evaluation on the amount of space in the parking spot taken up by the width of the tires. Hard to tell though since there wasn't a...
Freezing at 1:06, the gap between the top of the tire and the underside of the wheel well is significant (also evident at around 00:46-00:48 for the rear).
At 1:08, it does seem to be a wider track (it’s also consuming a fair amount of real estate in the parking space).
Thank you for the video...
Awesome!
I live in southeast Michigan, can I visit for a look see?

Ram, please don’t.
I’m sure it’s a great engine and would work well in the base Rebel and other vehicles, but don’t put it in the TR/TRX. Or, if you do, make the NA 7.0L an option.
True, but torque is less important on a vehicle that weighs under 400 lbs. Torque matters more when pulling a lot of weight, which is why the big diesels have more torque than horsepower.
