I have the amp boards and both sides led light up. Seems to have 1 trigger from its module. It would be nice to have only the side deployed to illuminate, but in the closed position, the light emitting from between board and rocker is barely anything. Definitely not enough to warrant a rewire...
Just re read that you do have puddle lights. I would do a test and see how long they stay illuminated. When the door is open, closed to see how long they stay on. You could find a wiring diagram for the mirrors and use the puddle light for the board light trigger. The AMP LEDs draw low current...
Off the top of my head, you could tap the power source from the puddle lights if your truck is equipped? The lights are easy, getting them to work only when needed will take the research.
Here is a link for the lights that come with the amp steps. They are identical to the lights in the pic...
These lights are the ones from the AMP research powerstep's. I just installed a set about a month ago on my rig. They are nice.
Best option mentioned would to find a set of rock lights. Only thing that would need to be considered is how to time them. The amp boards turn on when they go down...
Those are the correct pt#'s. It's possible they got boxed wrong. On the rear, all 4 holes should line up.
If that's not the case, contact vendor and see if they will exchange.
It is possible they put on backwards. I believe the arms are supposed to have a plug in the side of 1 of the tubes. The plug is to be to the rear. If the plug is on the front, they are on the wrong side.
I would talk with them and explain everything. Their customer service is excellent. Hopefully they will work with you on some of the added expenses to help compensate. Def keep us in the loop on the outcome.
I've been toying with the idea of installing some powered boards. For those who have them, can you measure from the bottom of the door to the extended out running board? Trying to get an idea of how much lower the step is compared to the factory tube I currently have. Also a pic of it tucked...
I just went and looked. I have at least a inch or so room between the spindle and coil spring.
When you installed your kit, did you tighten the UCA and strut base bolt at full extension?
I noticed when I installed my kit, it did rub. But I loosely tightened said bolts, then drove around the...
Ya when speaking to readylift, they havent relabeled all the boxes. It's funny when I compared the RL to the RC spacer, night and day difference. Each control arm should have a plug on one side. The plug goes towards the rear I believe. To identify R and L. But its noticeable once you match up...
I had to do a bunch of pre measuring and post measuring. But am very happy with the end result. Ride quality is a little stiffer, but no where near unbearable or bothersome. Normal bumps and crappy roads give it no issues. To me it feels more how a truck should ride. Don't get me wrong I did...
