I can tell you my experience with my Limited. I had the window trim, the grill surrounds, the mirror caps and the door handle inserts wrapped with black vinyl. The hood badges and the door rub strips were Plastidipped with and then had “glossifier“ applied over that. I removed the “Ram” badges...
I had (still have actually) an Ultragroove Metal and was very happy with it. The canister wasn’t as intrusive as I’d imagined it might be before I bought it. I just didn’t find times when I couldn’t arrange things in a way that allowed me to put smaller things that would fit under the canister...
Pace Edwards Ultragroove Metal. Loved the no external latch design and functionality. I switched to a Leer topper, but not because of any shortcomings the tonneau cover may have had. It’s an exceptional choice.
When I bought my Pace Edwards Ultragroove Metal it was because I wanted to be able to continue taking advantage of the fact that the proximity entry allows access without having to remove the fob from my pocket. Since the latch for the cover is on the underside, locking it up is accomplished be...
FM45 is correct. It’s along the inner facing wall of the driver’s side frame rail.
Edited to add: There may be a chase on the passenger side too? I encountered it while running a cable on the driver‘s side and did not pay attention to the other.
Tires are 35x12.5-20 Ridge Grapplers and the truck is currently leveled with Daystar spacers and AirLink brand air links. Originally I leveled via the links only, but the ride had already taken a hit from the weight and stiffness of the tires, and my wife was beginning to question my sanity. I...
I really appreciate it, Buz. It’s funny, but even though there are many, many nice trucks pictured on this site, only a few (Desert Dawgs Rebel, Roaming Lost’s Rebel, and a blue Rebel with bronze Fuel wheels come to mind) REALLY push my buttons. I’m pleased that your buttons were pushed by my...
A few more changes relating to the topper. First I integrated the Leer rear glass and the tailgate so that I can either open both remotely, or by using only the tailgate latch. There is a way to do this with a modified electronic Leer lock, but I wanted a mechanical solution. As it sits now, I...
Not to make light of your situation, but this sounds like a bad (or good, depending on blood/alcohol content) movie adaptation of a Steven King book. Was Emilio Estevez sitting in the passenger seat? Because this kind of thing seems to follow that dude around.
My Hypertech speedometer calibrator and ParkSense seem to play nice together. I’m adjusted for 35” tires and it took some experimenting to get it dialed as far as getting the speed correction right. I don’t remember ParkSense protesting any of the sizes I tried in the calibrator during the process.
I think he’s saying that there’s a micro kill switch in the fob that deactivates it after a certain amount if inactivity so that it’s less likely to be cloned while it sitting on the counter at home? If so, that’s brilliant.
Check the suspension sub, as there is good info to be had. FWIW, I have Daystar spacers (the ones listed for 4th gen trucks fit the 5th as well) and leveling links from AirLinks Suspension. The ride is minimally, or not at all effected if you use a combo of spacers and links rather than just...
My 4th gen is 2wd and I never needed 4wd with that truck. I did own a Jeep that was quite off pavement centric (flexy lift, MTRs, lockers, winch, armor, etc), so that was always in reserve. The only time I needed the Jeep’s capabilities was for rescuing others or when I intentionally put myself...
