The one thing I miss about driving Fords was the great service I got from one of the local dealers. I didn't buy the car(s) new, let alone from them - and they always waived the loaner fee for me. They also always did everything correctly, and without making a mess of something else in the...
You are having exactly, 100%, the same issue I am.
I don't know that it's actually late shifting down to 1 though, as the display shows 1 by the time I stop, and if I hold the gear in 1 manually, it does it just the same.
It feels to me like the drive shaft is binding up at the slip yokes...
Your built date is the newest I've seen with this. This throws a wrench in my vendor theory.
I can't imagine this happens with every single one, there has to be some kind of commonality here.
If you don't mind me asking, was the 2-1 bump noticeable at all when you came to a complete stop and let off the brake? I'm having a bit of this now, and it wasn't doing it for the first 5000 miles - seems to have cropped up in the last 1000.
I've been thinking this as well. I think it's just a coincidence, but that the leak itself comes from elsewhere - either the window seals, or even what plagued the 4th Gen (the third brake light). After studying the tracks, I can't understand how them being cracked leads to a leak.
This is exactly what it feels like on my truck. If I come to a stop, regardless of a quick/hard stop, or soft and slow one - I get a 'thump' as soon as I let off the brakes. This would happen on drive shafts with slip yokes (think a splined attachment on the drive shaft, that slides in and out...
I've noticed this one mine as well. I still think those mold lines contribute to the problem, if something during the molding process of the piece itself was not done correctly.
Every vehicle I've ever had with a solid rear axle, looked like that in short order - anything from trucks to Crown Vics / Town Cars. The black paint is pretty thin on these.
Well, I can safely say that since doing my first oil change last week at 5600 miles, and switching to full synthetic (Pennzoil Platinum @ the dealer) - I have had a great improvement in mileage.
My commute is about 48 miles round trip, about 60/40 city/highway with periods of full stop traffic...
This.
My right side was loose, simply tightening it made it good to go. I don't understand why FCA's repair is to replace the unit.. I highly doubt it damages it in the couple hundred/thousand miles it clunks around on occasion.
That's such a cop-out on their part. If *any* dealer is able to perform warranty work, as they so proudly tell us on here, then it's a moot point that the dealership is independently owned - they just about all are.
Every car I've ever had with painted bumpers has done this, whether plastic or steel being the underlying material. I just get my handy touch up paint out after washing the truck, and take care of the 2-3 small chips I might find. I'm just happy the bumpers are steel (magnet will stick), because...
I have 3.92 gears, and it will come on as high as 78 mph for me, but only in ideal conditions. It seems happier to engage at 70mph or lower though. I can also accelerate lightly at almost any speed it's engaged at, without it disengaging. Couldn't do that so well with my Grand Cherokee, but that...
Have you tried to 'forget' the Uconnect entry on your phone's Bluetooth settings? Mine did something similar back in March - it would not pick up my personal iPhone, but had no problem picking up my work iPhone. Deleted the Uconnect entries on my personal (there were a few due to previous cars...
I've never had a problem with removing them on any of my vehicles with 100k mile plugs, including on some Ford modular 4.6L V8's which had few threads compared with other aluminum heads out there. About the only thing I'm cringing at regarding new plugs eventually, is how much it will cost to...

Nothing else since the April 26 email, but hopefully I get mine as quickly as others have (5~ weeks), I need the money for a tonneau cover. :)
Glad you are happy with the move! I thought the Grand Cherokee was a fantastic SUV. I was pretty anti-Chrysler/Mopar for many years until I test drove the Jeep, and the rest is history. :)
I did the same thing. Went from a 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit, to the RAM. Thought that was a great powertrain in the Jeep with the 5.7L and ZF8, so naturally this was an easy step to make.
