Dealer is saying the compressor/regulator is failing and needs to be replaced. They weren't able to answer a lot of questions I had, so it didn't inspire confidence and want $2300 to get it done... which is preposterous. Air Delete here we come.

I'm worried the system is already getting contaminated. Yes, it could be venting out... but it could also be sucking in, right? If the pressure differential that is building up is a vacuum, then that woosh could be air going in somewhere. I don't know enough, and any schematics I've seen...

I'm getting this too... 74K miles. It generally happens after a cold start, pump runs and runs until there's a whoosh, like a pressure valve released. If it is a valve releasing... where's it going? I've had it looked at and I'm told there are no codes and gas pressure is normal. I'm not...

UPDATE - My lower control arms have been replaced very much to my satisfaction! Huge shout outs to @RamCares, Carrie at RAM/Stellantis, and Quirk CDJR in Marshfield MA. After a couple discussions, it was decided that my control arms would be replaced under warranty with just a $250 deductible...

Yes it is. I should clarify... the truck can be impounded or towed, but that doesn't necessarily happen often. You will definitely get a ticket if you're pulled over and all the hassles that come with it.

Massachusetts has annual inspections, they put your vehicle up on a lift, the whole deal. Apparently there's enough play in the front wheels for it to get rejected. Maybe it would pass in it's current condition, maybe it won't, honestly. Could the local garage think it's no big deal and pass...

This is what I've been told as well... some play is built in. Any idea how much play is "within spec" or how they measure that? Just curious.

Point taken about the supplier. It's a good point actually. Hoping that a press in Ball Joint becomes known. Mevotech will be the way to go for sure if there's no other way. Really excited to see how they work out for Jeff. Just so everyone is aware... the OEM control arms are $750 each...

Don't think you can fit 17's on a DT 1500... the brakes and calipers are too big.
