Yes and no... you will bypass the subwoofer effect of the ANC, which was not noticeable to me. I did not think initially it was doing anything. I unplugged it and did not notice any noise like I did with my previous RAM with the Alpine system. I unplugged that sub and noticed a significant...
I'm not sure if I should describe it as a knocking noise, maybe a tap tap here and there, almost like a rock hitting the underside. It only happens when on rough ground, going over bumps, etc, and it's not anything constant or consistent... it's random, although often. Seems like something...
Sooooooo... took all the goodies out of my RAM, other than the sub and amp. Installed the factory door speakers back and was able to get 3 of the 4" FaitalPRO speakers in the dash. It ain't pretty underneath the grill, but only I see that part. The corners took a good bit of Dremel work, and...
I don't think it's the sub that is the issue with the boominess, I think it's the tuning/equalization in the amp that they have applied. Some software updates have fixed it according to some other owners. So even if you replace the driver in the factory enclosure, it the tuning is not fixed...
I have no idea how you would calculate the volume on the factory sub enclosure, with it having such an odd shape, but you'd need to know in order to make sure you have the right sub, or if there is even one available. You'd want to use a low-pass filter on the sub, not a high-pass filter.
Well... not exactly. I actually heated up the side tab, bent it in a little, and JB welded it so it would be tighter, as there was beginning to be too much play in it... lol. So they are a little more aggravating to remove, but if I push in on the A pillar panel, it does make them a little...
My wife just upgraded her 2013 Lexus ES350 for a 2020 ES350... so here we go. She had a very nice system in her 2013 that is now 7 years old, so she is going to get a good bit of what's in my 2020 RAM... the HAT Legatia dash speakers, JL XD 6-channel amp, miniDSP.... sooooo... I'll be going...
Those are some crazy gas prices... wow! We pay 1.79 for Gulf regular here... been that for a good while now. 93 is 2.39... not many places around here offering the mid-grade stuff.
Probably... hard to say for sure. The JL's are super smooth sounding, but I've always had power on those. I can tell you if it were not for my HAT Legatia 3 (we are talking $900+)... I'd most like be using the JL Audio. It's the best sounding dash speaker I've used other than the Legatias...
4 got it where I wanted it... just a very very slight rake... hardly noticeable unless you really look at it with the intention of noticing it.
I do not have the off road package.
The JL's will be a little more subdued with the lower sensitivity, but if run in parallel with the doors that are at 2 ohm, they should work fine in those systems.
A couple of updates...
Reconnected the ANC for the rear doors. After getting up to speed, I can tell it helps with the exhaust. There is some noise at lower speeds, but I can only hear it if I have the air and the radio off, so it's not that bad. I can hear the exhaust with the air and...
Yep... been there and done that a few times. I actually replaced my good battery with a Northstar today. Everything works on mine except the A/C temp won't work for about an hour, then it all fixes itself. There might be some other stuff not working correctly, but the A/C is the only thing...
I had the Mopar spacers in the front initially... did not change the ride. I swapped those out for Bilstein 5100's, and still don't notice much if any difference. I changed to the Bilsteins because the spacers were just a tad too high, and the Bilsteins are adjustable... setting 4 is perfect...
Yep... PAC AmpPRO, amp, subs and wiring. The JL Stealthbox is awesome... and it has a location on top for an amp.
Your ANC will still function as normal.
