    Battery replacement steps

I'll be using a OBDII battery connection while I replace the battery so I don't have to worry about the disconnection to the main system. However, if I wasn't going to do that, I would make sure to do this knowing I would be not driving the truck for several hours, give it time to boot...

    Recalls... Your thoughts?

These recalls are relatively small and minor comparatively speaking.

Nearly 8000 miles on a Hurricane HO

Absolutely, but based on posts here, which we know is a minority of owners out there, it definitely is showing certain correlations of issues. Seems to be related to auxiliary components causing engine lights to go on, but clearly frustrating to those who spent so much money to have their...

Nearly 8000 miles on a Hurricane HO

Oh gotcha, totally understand, I would be too. The first couple of folks who posted don't seem to, it's fundamentally a different motor, so curious if the initial issues are isolated to the SO.

I didn't now the Lone Star got the high-output Hurricane?

Broken Running Board Studs - Fixed

Cool, thank you for the post. Considering the torque rating for the running board bolts is only 15 ft-lbs, makes perfect sent they would be easy to break if you try over-torque them down because you didn't remove the paint.

Let's see those running boards/side steps

Here are the OEM running boards I typically seen as factory equipped: These have been around since 2018... These I've seen more recently, last few years, but notice 2025 using these again....

Let's see those running boards/side steps

That's actually my favorite style, good protection as well to your rear quarter panels from rocks thrown up from the front wheels. Curious, for the last few years, they were using a newer running board, similar in style but closer to the body. They switched back to these, which have been...

Battery Change: Optima Yellow Top AGM or Not?

I've noticed the same thing, quite a few people posting the original battery not lasting as long, but you have to take that with a grain of salt since most people posting on forums is a small minority of owners, and people with issues looking for solutions. That being said, my battery is over...

Battery Change: Optima Yellow Top AGM or Not?

Good info, my original battery on my Jan 2019 build truck is still working fine, but I know I have to start looking soon. I notice my alternator charges the stock battery up to 14.5v when it's been sitting a couple of weeks, then drops down to about 14v after a couple of hours of driving, I'm...

    Loose Window Trim

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but had this issue and pushing this clip hard with my thumb from the outside fixed this issue. Just put your thumb on the trim outside where the clip is on the inside, push good and hard and it will snap in place. I'm sure Wwbar has already figured this...

    TPMS

Exactly what Jimmy07 stated. Once air pressure goes below the threshold you get a warning in red, usually during cold temperatures (it dips more than usual, then jumps back up as it gets warmer), the red warning will not go away until you inflate that tire all the way to full, in this case 55...

    The Hemi is back!?!

From what I understand, the plant that produced the 5.7L is no longer making anymore, they are all Hurricane lines. However, they did stockpile enough to keep producing Durango V8s until 2025, HD trucks and warranty replacement units.

    The Hemi is back!?!

Agreed, I loved my 2.7L Ecoboost, but sounded like an Accord, got bored of it after 3 years, still have my Rebel after most 6 years. For a regular 1500, I rather have a V8. But for say a RHO or Raptor, I can live with a six banger because they are so much more than a regular 1500 going for...

    The Hemi is back!?!

That's a good idea. I think they want to keep it in the Tungsten and RHO, but a special or limited lower trim would help a lot with floor traffic. A performance street trim is something we haven't seen in a while, put a bee on it.

    The Hemi is back!?!

The Hurricane should be the mainstream motor, both the Hurricane SO & HO placed above the 5.7L Hemi, somewhat similar to what Ford does with the Coyote, though that motor sits between the 3.5L & 2.7L Ecoboost. Both GM and Ford have a mix of motor combinations in their 1500s, RAM should has...

    The Hemi is back!?!

It would take a few years to develop a new V8, unless they can just keep making the current Hemi in the meantime while they develop a new one that will pass compliance like GM is doing. If they EPA lets off the brakes, maybe they can. This issue is CARB and the 12 states that make it up...

    Coolant issues

On a side note, mine turns on at around 228F, shuts down at around 220F, could be year specific.

    Coolant issues

Never seen or heard of this, I would contact a good indy shop and see what they think. As mentioned, did you already change the radiator cap?

Ram Rev Delayed To 2026 Ramcharger Due 2025

I suspect they'll look very similar for the most part, just because it is a 3.6, though it makes sense that the belts won't drive the AC since this thing is a full EV and should power all those systems independent of a gas generator.
