A lot of good stuff.
1. Use ALL 4wd options about once a month, even if it's just for a few yards. Keep those actuators lubed and moving.
2. A manual override would be an OUTSTANDING addition.
I would think the warranty for the repair would cover the cable. If not...open a RamCares thread. And bring copies of ALL the times you complained about it.
Somewhere I posted pictures of where I did it and how I did it. I used the panel on the left, near the light controls. Hmmm. Not sure where I posted my thread...
I have Lasfit in my 2021 third brake and payload light. No interference. (A previous light did interfere, from a different company. I forget which.)
I was happy with Lasfit and got my son some for his 2022 setup. Again, Lasfit just works. No interference.
I just came back from a tile store, about 45 minutes away. (My wife has advised me that we need to "refresh" our house. I blame HGTV.)
I loaded 980 pounds of tile into the bed. I could barely even tell that the truck had a heavy load in it. There was just a hair of a delay coming off red lights...
Well, I think they said they did. In 2021. And then again in 2022.
Permatex.
Okay, Permatex AND a Class Action Lawsuit (<- the goal being recompense for ANY expense due to leaks, AND lifetime replacement and damage coverage.)
After 100 years of mass-produced automobile glass, leaking seams...
I don't have a good financial argument for my EcoDiesel. ;)
When I tow (a light trailer, about 3-4,000 lbs MAX, usually more like 2,000-3,000 lbs, but it has a large 6'x4' ramp that creates a LOT of highway drag), the EcoDiesel acts like it's not even there. The low-end torque and the easy...
I've used Power Service in several diesels. Grey or white, depending on the temp. About 1 1/2 million total diesel miles. All good.
For my EcoDiesel, I'm using Amsoil. Why change? Well, I'm curious. I'm -still- using the Power Service in my TDi, but my truck gets a 50/50 mix of the Amsoil...
Keep track of all the failures. Best if you can record it as they occur.
Then look up your state's lemon law. Contact an attorney. THEN contact the dealer.
Like @mikeru82 just said, buy the light yourself. There are some discount sellers of oem equipment out there. Less than $50...heck, I think it's less than $30.
And, get some permatex (the stuff we've talked about upstream) and caulk the outside of the window.
That -should- fix it.
(FWIW, my...
I guess the journalists didn't store their gear in the rear passenger area during a rainstorm.
Or else it would have gotten soaked due to the widespread leaking rear window issue.
RAM needs to publicly address this and extend the warranty on it.
I think a modification of the rear bulkhead is in order. I wonder how difficult it would be to add waterproofing, or water routing, onto or around the various boxes bolted to the rear bulkhead?
If I get another rear window leak, the moldy carpet is bad enough: I can't imagine the pain of having...
