The drone happens around 1500-1800 rpm. After that it is just a normal exhaust note. It actually gets quieter at 2000. But this problem exists because my truck doesn’t have ANC right now.

An external amp won’t make the stock sub perform any better. The system is already set for the proper power going to that sub.

Well, I think you have proved that the ANC in newer trucks is more aggressive than older. Might also be why newer trucks seem to have the dreaded ANC thump more than older? Ram also could have changed the internal sound deadening material. It all comes down to what you want to do about it...

I think something is wrong with your systems. Mine is fine. If I wanted professional I’d install a real system. H/K is decent for stock, at least in my truck.

I haven’t seen anyone who has replaced the sub with a different sub in the same box run by the factory amp. However, there are a ton of people who have ditched the factory sub, box, amp altogether and installed custom setup.

I’m not sure what is wrong with others H/K subs but no 6x9 would hit like the stock sub in my truck his.
