The standard courtesy system in the Ram uses halogen bulbs, the upgrade Led system uses three wires to power the 2 led package. --- one for courtesy the other ambient..

@vincentw56 -- you're are totally correct on the different configuration---coming home from a 36 hr shift, I rushed it without sleep. I edited my post. I hope a member or two can jump in and post some missing part numbers...

Here is the write-up... just thrown together. Hopefully I didn't miss anything or make many mistakes, I was going off memory.. :)
**** Make Note--- This is for the STANDARD tailgate w/o surround view ****

Well I knew somebody spoke Mopar, @Jimmy07 ... thanks for the explanation, it should help out others wanting to add this mod. I know my color is MaxSteel but I keep calling it Blue... I need sleep-- ;)

--- Just the 3 parts to make everything work, no other OE parts required... you will need 2 diodes and approx 2 ft of 22 gauge wire. All will be in my write-up..
This is my part number that I ordered for my vehicle. Maxsteel without chrome insert.
For other colors start here--...
The led light and wiring part numbers should be good to go for all DT's , the only part number is going to change is the handle... because of color and if it has the chrome insert.... Mine is BlueSteel w/o chrome, I can post that number if it helps any member...

Just want to throw my follow-up into the ring... I added this to MY 2019. You do have to re-wire pin8 to feed the LED, but it does work like a Factory installed option. I have it wired to my bed lights and to my back up lights, isolated each circuit with a 3amp diode(s) so the circuits don't...
Sorry for my absence people.. been Krazy Busy here--- Just some clarification on the harnesses.... the 3 external harnesses are needed, those you can order up from Mopar... the 3 internal harnesses are only required if your DT wasn't pre-wired with them... ALWAYS double check, you may get...
@ajfRam -- it's been a while, but you added the posted change - what does that do... I don't remember making such edit...

@brental1 --- I am still finishing up the how-to, which I hope will clear up some of your questions... I am writing it on my down time... that's why it's not done yet :)

@brental1 -- I can confirm that your vehicle is not a unicorn. I have modified 4 Rams that needed to have the body harness wires added... as far as the stack switch (seats/wheel) ... you just add it and when the changes are made in Alfa, those 3 buttons become active... don't get caught up...
@kosmos66 -- I ran the constant power wire along the frame body harness under the truck... it's in a protective mesh loom and it's zipped tied.
The new wire is protected by a circuit breaker...
