Hard Pedal. No Start When Start Button Pushed. Service 4WD flashes.

2022 Ram 1500 GT

This has happened twice in 2 days.

Go to start the truck and brake pedal is hard to push and no start when i press the button. Service 4WD flashes.
But will start when i push harder and press the button.

Anyone else have this issue and what was the fix?

Try disconnecting the battery for about an hour and then reconnect. Maybe the computers need a hard reset.

I've had the hard pedal and no start minus the flashing lights a few times. As you said, really crushing the pedal gets it to start. And then it goes another year or so before it happens again. I have no idea what causes it and no confidence that if I mention it to the dealer that it will happen for them or that they have a TSB on it. Just one of those gremilns.

I ended up selling it today so it’s someone else’s problem now.
Too many quirky things happening lately, better to let her go rather than get mired in repairs.
And i disconnected the battery. 14.7 at idle after starting it.
It’ll sit for 3 days before i take it anywhere. Sometimes i think the lack of movement makes it act up.
Nice trucks. But too bad they have these odd goins on.
Looking into a 23-24 Blazer RS.

LOL.
Too late but sounds like the brake vacuum assist pump perhaps acting up, or a vacuum leak in the brake booster.
