Well this is interesting. After two months of ownership the center portion of the dash stopped working (the gauges are fine).

This is on top of four prior problems (2 DTC's they can't reproduce or troubleshoot, 2 TPMS issues).
I'm fully aware that this isn't a Honda or Hyundai, but this is kind of ridiculous.

After a week in the shop, the dealer hasn't been able to locate a replacement. Since they're (obviously) still making the '26s I'm sure they're making dashes... I guess they're all going into the new trucks instead.

Because it won't register miles driven they won't let me continue to drive it, so I have a little Trax loaner.
The dealer said if I needed a pickup for pickup stuff they'd "help me out" so that's good. I may need to haul a camper and motorcycle soon.

Here in MN, we have 30 days of "in the shop" before it becomes eligible for Lemon Law stuff... so 21 days to go.

An update .... RAM blocked the dealer from ordering the parts until September.

Sh!t happens ... what matters now is how RAM handles it.

Lemon Law? Maybe they'll buy it back or trade it for something else to avoid having a branded truck on their hands?

They've approved me for renting a 2500 Silverado; I'm guessing that will cost them $10k+ if I keep it until September.

The story is unfolding ...

That sucks, but I'm glad your state sounds like it has a good lemon law in place. Please keep us updated.

Lemon Law usually requires a number of failed attempts.
Is there a safety issue or anything to prevent you from driving it until the part comes in??
That may be their argument for not allowing a Lemon Law.
You could demand a loaner for the duration.
Only thing is I would hate to have any vehicle sit that long as you know they won't be driving it or moving it resulting in flat spots on the tire.
Would definitely add some fuel additive too if sitting idle that long.

Good Luck.

MN Lemon Law - Lemon Law - MN Car Laws
  1. Four or more unsuccessful attempts to repair the same defect; or,
  2. One unsuccessful attempt to repair a defect that has caused the complete failure of the steering or braking system and that is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury if the vehicle is driven; or,
  3. A car that has been out of service due to warranty repairs for 30 or more cumulative business days.
Good idea on the fuel additive.

Their stated reason to not let me drive it, is that there will be a discrepancy on the mileage between the dash and other ECU's in the truck. I don't understand that, considering that I drove it from NM to TX to MN this way; the discrepancy is already there. I suspect it has more to do with the warranty; if I put 10k miles on it before they fix it, and that's not reflected in the dash, then I get that much more "free warranty".

Yesterday the dealership shared that this is now turning into a recall, and they've removed the block on ordering the parts. They're hoping to have it fixed within two weeks.

Hi @NorskieRider feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of support alongside the dealer. We're happy to help!
