How To Use AlfaOBD On 2025+

Read replies In this post. This was covered off.
Yes

And proxy with Topdon work as it can't comm with 4 modules that are required. I think you might be one of the people who found. This based on me sharing the link to this page on FB. Good to see same lazy lack of search behaviour here now that fb is full of.

What's even more comical is Jimmy literally said in the post directly above that guys - ANY change made to the 2025+ Ram with Alfa requires a proxy alignment lol

Maybe I made the mistake of letting all.the mouthbreathers on FB groups for these trucks find out about this page.

Can't stand that lazy bs of asking stupid questions with putting in no effort.

This page was about pioneering customizing the BCM on the new 2025 plus Atlantis architeture. Want to recognize all the people who put in blood sweat and tears into this. Amazing how far we got. Thank you to everyone who provided useful comments and risked their trucks figuring it out. Truely gems of people and pioneers.

Abhi has figured out how to make BCM only changes without a requirement for proxy because he's that smart with math and coding. But any changes requiring other modules do require at least a partial proxy liem we've done on a few trucks now to enable digital dash, 14" screen or other changes like lighting, performance pages, aux cameras etc. Reach out to him if you want to do same.

Highly underrated member of the community here who's next level intelligent. A true gem. He programmed my truck and jrs and few others with his method. Even after dealer did the recall and proxy aligned all my modules they applied his custom BCM code to all modules without issue. Much respect. @Abhi.K

I’m just following up here. The Mopar MDP+ successfully proxi aligned my truck, including the 4 modules that were consistently not responding with the Cardaq 3 Plus

The Rlink devices (J2534 and X7) could connect, but were very slow and unreliable.

The Cardaq 3 Plus could connect consistently, was significantly faster than the Rlink devices (though not fast), and could consistently interact. There were 4 modules it failed to proxi aligned though.

The MDP+ worked for everything I tried and was much faster than any of the other devices.

Rlink tried for about 10-20 minutes to proxi align and would fail, sometimes silently. Cardaq took 1-2 minutes to align what it could, but left 4 modules unaligned. MDP+ took about 5 seconds to align everything successfully.

So I assume you were able to get your wheel and tires changed out with the MDP+? I'm local to OC and wondering how / where you got the MDP+

Just lifted an put 35's on my truck so my speedometer is off 5 mph and I'd like to fix all that jazz.

Read the entire thread! And was wondering…. Can a MEMORY SEAT MODULE be added to a 26 Level 0 RHO? Or are the features already included in there and just need to switch it on?
I would like the Easy Exit feature and Profile 1 and 2 seat settings. Its a shame that the Rho comes with leather seats and all but no memory..

Yes, I recalibrated my speedo for 37’s and adjusted the TPMS threshold down to 45 PSI. I bought the MDP+ from the mopartsp.com website. It’s one of the options to buy after you log in. If you are local and have questions, I’m happy to help.

This friends, is how regular people on the internet think everyone else is even more regular than them and are "mouthbreathers". You've got a lot bigger issues if a couple lines on a forum board irks you that intensely.

Jimmy's initial post indicates an early take that there is no need for alfaobd changes for LED taillights, which to this mouthbreather aligns with the fact that the RetroShop harness being sold makes no mention of alfaobd changes as well. Can this mouthbreather, for the benefit of all the other so-called mouthbreathers on here, clarify this point? I get it, my follow-up should've clarified the headlights and taillights separately but i didn't want to come across as too pedantic ... that and I was closing in on a half-hour on the throne at work and it was high time to book it back so i rushed it.

#90 : I got the pre-2025 LED tail lights installed and working the way they’re supposed to. So far, it seems that no alfaobd changes are needed,
vs
#146: would a retrofit of the LED projector headlights and taillights be just a wiring harness and no AlfaOBD+Proxy Alignment effort? - No, you have to use alfaobd for them to work

Jimmy, i'm not trying to call you out, just proving my point to internet tuff guys that still haven't learned through the history of the internet to just ignore messages and move on.

Alright, here’s all the info on how to use alfaobd on these 2025+ 1500’s. For those of you who are familiar with using it on previous Rams, Jeeps, Dodges, etc, this is going to be very different, and at first seem a little overwhelming.

The modules (ECUs) in these 2025 trucks use a proxi configuration, which isn’t anything new (Jeep Cherokees, Promasters, Darts have used it for years). This means that pretty much any module you replace or add, or any change to the BCM configuration, you have to perform a proxi alignment afterwards. The proxi alignment basically tells all the modules what the vehicle configuration is by “aligning” them all. A telltale sign that a module is not aligned on the vehicle is a flashing odometer.

In a nutshell, there’s three steps to making any changes with alfaobd:
1- Unlock the security gateway
2- Make the changes with alfaobd
3- Perform the proxi alignment (alfaobd can’t do this)

Unfortunately, the dealership is going to be the most practical option for most people for getting the proxi alignment done. So, realistically, you should make an appointment with the dealership for that first, then install parts and make the alfaobd changes closer to your appointment date.

UNLOCKING THE SECURITY GATEWAY

Unlike the gateway on previous Rams and other vehicles, there is no way to physically bypass this gateway via wiring or bypass blocks. You have to unlock the gateway using a scan tool that is capable of FCA’s AutoAuth gateway unlock service. The scan tool doesn’t permanently unlock the gateway, it only unlocks it for the diagnostic session while the tool is connected to the vehicle. This means that to use alfaobd with the gateway unlocked, you need two devices plugged into the OBD port at the same time, so you’ll need an OBD splitter.

Things you’ll need to unlock the gateway:
1- OBD splitter- Amazon.com

2a- Set up an AutoAuth account- AutoAuth

2b- Buy an AutoAuth subscription ($50/yr). This is for a one year subscription to unlock the gateway on an unlimited amount of VINs an unlimited amount of times. You can register up to 5 scan tools to it.

3a- Xtool Anyscan A30M scan tool- Amazon.com

This is the cheapest tool that I’ve used that was able to keep the gateway unlocked while alfaobd is connected to the truck.
I can verify that Topdon Topscan can’t do it, and Launch X431 Elite can’t do it.
If you already own a scan tool that utilizes AutoAuth, I’ll leave a note at the end of this gateway unlock section on how to verify it is keeping the gateway unlocked while connected to alfaobd.

3b- Anyscan app for android or iPhone. This is the diagnostic app that interfaces with the Xtool.

3c- Register the Xtool serial number to your AutoAuth account so it’s ready to use for unlocking the gateway.
Would this procedure work with earlier models. I have a 2019 Ram 2500. I want to able to change my tire size and add additional features in the future. I already have an A30M device. Just need AlfaOBD.

Don't turn this technical thread into something it shouldn't be - a d!ck waving contest full of insults.

A little respect for the pioneers, technical leaders, and those that put in extra effort is in order.

Keep it civil and polite or there will be beatings. That might mean a thread ban or something more severe.

You know who you are.

Pretty sure the latter post is referring to the 2025/2026 LED headlights and taillights based on my reading of most the posts Jimmy has made regarding the process.
