Hello.
I left on vacation for a week and left my 2019 Laramie longhorn parked at the office. I dont drive it daily so a couple days after I got back I was walking out to get my golf clubs out of the bed and walking up to the front I noticed the middle back window didn’t look as dark. I walked around the side and there was broken glass. The truck didn’t respond to my remote so I used the key thing and got in to find the busted window in the back seat, the drivers side seat laid down, the light switch cover removed, and the little plastic cover below it removed (which has a little strap behind it). The truck won’t respond to anything and the little red light is blinking which I assume is the anti-theft system. I called the local dealer who said they were going to have someone call me back but never did. Worst case I’ll have it towed there but is there any way to reset this thing?

By the way, I had $5000 worth of golf clubs in the bed (under a hard cover) that weren’t touched (I was ecstatic lol) and it honestly doesn’t look like they took anything out of it. Not sure what the goal was unless it was to steal the truck in which case they failed.

Any insight would be appreciated.

That little strap is what you'd pull to put the transfer case into neutral. Allows them to tow the thing away (one way of stealing it).

My best guess is they got interrupted and fled before completing the deal. Also check the passenger side front area; they could have programmed (or attempted to program) different keys either there or at the OBD port if they bypassed the security gateway box (driver's side floor/behind dash). If they wiped out the key "memory" while doing it, they could have erased your current key fobs, so the truck won't respond to them.

Definitely needs a dealership to look at it, I'd say. Possibly an insurance claim.

Thank you. Insurance is already been notified. And like I said, the most valuable thing to get the truck was the golf clubs that I cradled like newborn with I was able to get them out of the back. 😂. I’ll just have the truck towed to Tate and they can deal with it. I was told twice someone would call me back to schedule an appointment and nothing in 4 days.

Oh no we're sorry to hear of this! Feel free to send our team a private message for an extra layer of support alongside the dealer.
