Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

How long have you had the digital key? Was this after the recent FOTA? I just got it today but still need to try it.
I will never leave home without the FOB so the whole thing is kind of useless to me at this point. I'm not willing to put that much trust in technology.

I've had the digital key since I pikced up my truck 9/6/2024, but the SPAAK and pairing my iPhone and Apple Watch is more recent, as is replacing the UConnect "brain" / radio.

Haha. Yall acting like you’re talking directly to the person running this digital roll out. It’s just a customer care rep. Super helpful mind you and I appreciate what she’s doing but yall need to give her a break. She has never guaranteed anything and frankly who knows what she’s doing with the info you send her haha.

Ram has sold 10s of thousands of trucks with this feature missing. They’ve released it to something like 2-3000 so far (feel free to correct me here) but until Stellantis does mass release most of us aren’t going to get the update.

Hi everyone, I do want to let you all know that all of your concerns and frustrations are documented and have been sent over to the internal team. As we are just the social media team, we do not play a part in the development and roll out process. We simply just provide you with updates as we are notified.

As mentioned before, the update is being released in batches to a small group of people. Ultimately to test out and make sure there are no bugs. Once the internal team confirms, it will be released to everyone.

Also, to clarify, being added to the list does not guarantee a spot in the roll out. It simply adds you to priority. Ultimately there are many other factors that the internal team goes off on top of your VIN and Model year to determine who gets included in the batches.

We truly appreciate everyone's patience and kind words through this process. We will continue to document and advocate on your behalf to get this rectified. Thank you!

Lets put it this way guys... would you rather they roll it out to everyone and break a lot of things (like how the RHO updates somehow made their way to the 2022-2024 TRXs and did a lot of damage to FCA's reputation there) or roll it out in waves to make sure if something breaks, they only break it for a few, not everyone, and can get it fixed more quickly?

I think it shouldn't have been advertised unless it was closer to being ready, rather than a year or two later, but that was under Carlos Tavares and his crew that are now mostly gone (and single handedly responsible for most of our software woes, in my opinion).

Is it too much to ask for them to just do it right the first time? Can’t there be a middle ground instead of wither very few people get it or the entire world gets it and then everything goes to garbage?

I have also had a couple of glitches now that I have received the update. The battery has now completely drained twice and the truck is completely dead. First time to the dealer they checked and charged the batteries, did an RF Hub and BCM update. They also replaced the IPC. Had it back for a little over a week. Yesterday go to unlock the truck, it’s completely dead again. Never had this issue before the update. I’m headed back to the dealer today.

Same spot it’s always been parked in for the past year. About 300 ft away from keys and phone. When I would get close to it and it starts to communicate I would always hear the “woosh woosh” noise where the truck wakes up.

I want what I paid for, 13 months ago. It shouldn’t have been advertised and on the window sticker if it didn’t work. I’m sorry but it doesn’t take two years to develop this, multiple car manufacturers have had it for years. I’ve had numerous annoyances to deal with, but you step back and look at as a whole, this truck is quickly turning into an overpriced pos that was falsely advertised. This is my fourth Ram, I went with all the bells this time because this was going to be with me a long time..it’s life is gonna be much much shorter as more issues develop.

Waiting to see if there are any impacts on battery but the proximity wake feature is now also working as I’d expect. Upon approach puddle lights come on and power steps deploy. This wasn’t the case with the FOB.

It seems for those who this impacts battery life, disabling the proximity feature has resolved that, hoping not to go down that path. Have had no other issues with the truck so far and 18k on it. Fingers crossed this isn’t unlocking any.

This is actually pretty common. My father in law worked for a tech company and he was laid off and re-hired a few times when the decision makers tried to outsource their code writers to 3rd world countries and then realized it was a bad idea because the product was suffering and needed to reverse course.

Since I got the update, my steps deploy but the puddle lights don't come on when I approach. The lights do come on when I touch the handle to unlock and open the door. I have it turned on in the settings also. As long as my batteries don't die I'm ok with it.

When I got the truck back from the dealer after the first dead battery event I disabled the proximity approach feature. Unfortunately, disabling didn’t help.

It’s currently at the dealer. I will keep the thread posted.
