This weekend was the Baja 250. I didn't go all the way to San Felipe to see the races because my intention this weekend was to actually put the new suspension to the test.
I did push the throttle on the whoops. Who's ever been to baja or seen the trophy trucks videos you've seen that even 1million trophy truck suspension they even slow down on some crazy ones haha. So initially I was like- what the heck I'm bottoming out on a few whoops, but then I calm my self down. I didn't spent 50k on my suspension haha.
8112/8100 is really good, no rebound like before. I used to bounce a ton, the other truck who was with us said my truck looked composed.
Once you find the speed and timing, the suspension feels beautiful!.
Being honest, I really went hard and bad, almost to not caring haha. Have a few battle scars from this last trip.
I have more metal trimming to do, my tires are rubbing pretty bad at everything! I might even cut the fenders a little bit haha.
Even my team said, "your truck doesn't look lifted anymore" Ouch! it hurts especially because it took me so long to decide losing those inches for performance.
There was one scary part when racing my team's silverado. At high speed - maybe 80mph my steering wheel went crazy - like the death wobble from jeeps, I immediately slow down and it stopped. I think it is the sway bar being disconnected. It did not happen again, so not sure what it was, but it does feel scary. Curious thing is, in the highway at 90 mph it doesn't happen.
Crossing the border back, I was able to see all the competitors lol!

Tried one dune - the fun things was without lowering the tire psi (38 front - rear 33)
Just FULL power - really fun

Technical parts - Better flex than the Silverado with 2.5 Fox - he struggled and hit rear bumper several times. I didn't, but I also have front sway bar disconnected, I know that helped a lot to go faster and with ease.
