Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Design choice or safety feature, same difference. Some manufacturers think something is unsafe that others don’t. I don’t know if it is still this way but Toyota makes it so that when you remote start their engine it turns off as soon as you open the door. I have relatives with several different Toyotas and they all behave like this. Apparently Toyota doesn’t think you should be able to keep the vehicle running once you open the door. Ram doesn’t think the door should unlock before you touch the door handle.

That’s not a “toyota” thing. It’s a market thing. And in other markets they have to do things like that. Most European auto makers do the same because that’s the law in the EU, ie BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc. Not a toyota safety choice but a law they consider based on where they sell their vehicles.

If you have not recieved the update by now then your vehilce was not apart of this batch. However, you have been added to the list and we will continue to keep the forum updated regarding the next batches.

@RamCares Hey Diamond, I know this is not your fault... but this is getting ridiculous. You say if we have not received it by now, we were not in the batch. I have been on that list since October of last year... They just need to get their **** together and release the damn update. There have to be enough successful installs for their IT folks to say let's push this. I have worked in IT for 30 year... and this is beyond pathetic. Stellantis should offer this feature for an additional 5 years at no charge, and for the 2025 RAMs add the 10/100K warrenties. What a crock of ****!

How I see this actually going down..... After buying a Tungsten, the top of the line 1500, with a 2024 build date, I'll be the last one to get the update pushed because that's just my luck. Then the week after I get it all set up, they'll finally contact me about having the parts to perform the recall for the towing module. Installing that will then require a reset of the system wiping out the digital key update and I'll have to be added to the list again to wait another two years for a feature I paid for. At least by then, they should have the unlock on approach thing figured out(another feature I paid for). Then right about the time the warranty goes out and the engine starts to **** the bed is when they'll finally release the correct cameras for the trailer surround cameras. Definately not the experience a top auto maker should be providing. Meanwhile, the wife just picked up a Bronco and is loving it(yes it has a recall as well, but at least it appears ford is being more proactive). Maybe I should have got the BRaptor instead of the Tungsten!!

I must be in the same boat. No updates yet. Disappointing.

I share the frustration! After providing the vin, confirming build date and being told I’m on the list for this release. More bs…told if I didn’t receive it by now I wasn’t on the release. It has been over a year since I purchased this $81k pos truck, with a feature that wasn’t disclosed as being bs…. I boast about my truck all the time, truth be told, I’m extremely tired of being lied to, dealing with the electrical gremlins, a useless pos app that I had to buy a subscription for which is doesn’t even work. I can’t use my rear slider because the track is cracked. I seem to be the only person that doesn’t have a leaking back window, I’ve elected to give up another feature I paid for based high likelyhood some idiot will apply the butcher rtv job I’ve seen done when the replacement leaks. Enough is enough…..

Where is everyone finding their build date?? I don't see it on my window sticker anywhere

Providing an update, and overall positive experience so far. I posted recently that I finally saw the tile and configured the Digital Key / SPAAK feature. I've had no issues with it working (except the proximity unlock doesn't seem to work but when I reach behind the handle it works every time)
I recently had my radio "brain" replaced (Telematics Gateway Module) and while I had to re-setup my profile, etc. the Digital Keys remained intact, as did my other Connected Services.
I've had multiple times of going out without my keyfob (brought my Ram Card just in case) and had no issues. I hope everyone gets this feature soon, it is very convenient and hasn't had any issues thus far. Good luck everyone, keep positive vibes ;)
Did you have an active remote start and data subscription at the time of setting up SPAAK?

It’s in the sticker inside your drivers door.
Yup, what he said. The window sticker may have part of the build date, but the best source is the door jamb sticker. Here is a previous thread on it with one of the best posts explaining it.

We don’t know any numbers associated with this rollout. I, apparently incorrectly, assumed this last batch would finalize the MY25 that were built in 2024. In fact, we don’t know if Ram is still rolling out relatively small test batches. I’d love some sort of quantification of the status. Can we at least get a percentage of the MY25s built in 2024 that have been updated?

@Teeps NE - It’s even worse for the trailer cameras. Any of us that ordered a Tungsten in 2024, we were supposed to get the “trailer surround view camera system” as part of the Towing Tech Group. This was the entire system with all of the cameras and wiring.

Here’s a snapshot of the original Customer Preferred Code Guide from 12/12/2023 and reissued 7/15/2024:

It’s still there in the next Code Guide issued 11/15/2024:

And it isn’t until January 2025 that they finally updated to remove the cameras:

I’ll even take it another step further, with yet another example of something promised and advertised, and then not supplied — the “auto park” feature. Previous model years had this feature, and MY25 was supposed to have it as well (at least some trim levels). It wasn’t until we started to see early pictures of the MY25 dash (UConnect screen bezel) that we started to question where the AutoPark button was.
If you ordered your MY25 Tungsten before November 2024, it was supposed to have this feature as standard equipment.

Here we go again… The original and July 2024 Customer Preferred Code Guides show it is indeed part of the build:

It wasn’t until November 2024 that they removed this feature from the guide:

Diamond, what do you need from me to add me to this list?

Send her a Direct Message with your VIN. Include your mileage, model year, and the date of mfr (from your driver’s side door sticker).
Please note that this process may result in nothing happening. We were told all VIN’s previously provided that met the qualifications were included in the FOTA update. However, I and at least 1 other were not given the update and told we were left off the list. Conflicting information to continue to make this situation more frustrating.

True - no guarantees.
I’d love to know how many have gotten the update, and how many are still waiting.

We're sorry to hear of this! Feel free to contact our Connected Services team directly at (800)-777-3600 for support.

Thank you! I'll give it another shot, close to home and see if I have the same issue then I'll call.
