After driving Toyotas (14 and 03 Tundra) I couldn't justify getting a new one. Between the problems with the engine, cheap plastic interiors and price it wasn't worth it. I've been pretty satisfied with my 20 Wrangler so I decided to try a RAM.

Picked up a 26 RAM 1500 Rebel yesterday.

Reason I went with a RAM over the others:

Hurricane Engine - New tech. Great specifications. Engine won't grenade itself like Toyota and GM/Chevy
Nicest Interiors
10/100 Powertrain Warranty
Best bang for the money. Between RAM incentives/rebates and the dealer willing to drop price the deals are out there. Wasn't to difficult to take a $68k sticker and walk out the door for $55k.
Good dealer. The dealer where I got my 20 Wrangler has been great. They were more than willing to work with me to sell me a RAM. In fact I've been listening to them for several years asking me when I was going to get rid of my Tundra and get a "real truck".

That said I wasn't going to buy it without getting the best deal I could on a factory 10/100 extended warranty. Just too much electronics that can go bad. Last year I had some electrical problems in my Wrangler and in 8 weeks it was in the shop 4 or 5 times. Both side mirrors, sensors in the rear bumper, some modules and a chunk of wiring harness for the driver's door. If I didn't have an extended warranty with $100 deductible that would have cost me a lot of cash.

We'll see how it works out.

I came back to Ram after a long hiatus. Went through a few manufacturers. I was always impressed with the handling of the Ram. I like it still. Even with the offroad package, this Rebel handles very well.

Welcome to team Rebel. Post some pics of that '26.

I cant believe a nicely equipped 1500 is the price of a mid size truck now! And with 2.9% interest. What? Rams gone nuts on pricing, what a breath of fresh air. At these prices and with the warranty and am not sure why you would buy something else.

I used to drive Chevys before I got my Tundras. I looked them over and drove them. At the end of the day the engine issues with the 6.2 L87 were just too much to ignore. My friend has a Silverado and he just had to get his engine rebuilt. It cost him $11k for a truck out of warranty on an engine that was always maintained and should have never gone bad. I briefly considered a F150 with the 3.5 EcoBoost but I've never been a Ford guy and just couldn't bring myself to get a Ford. Both the GM/Chevys and the Fords have transmission problems where the transmission in the RAM is rock solid.

They all have problems, pick what you like.
