Exhaust Options for Hurricane 3.0 SST

2025 RAM Tungsten SS HO. Don't necessarily care about sound (although it would be nice to sound more like a big V8) but I am totally after HP increase. Installed a K&N cold air intake and saw a modest increase, but am after maximizing this pretty impressive I6 TT's performance. I think Flowmaster boasts a 45 HP increase? Anyone have any experience with exhaust upgrades?
I have AWE cutback, S&B intake, and JB4 on my high output Limited.. I would go that route if I were you with a Tungsten, that thing is gonna drone like **** with flow master in sport mode my AWE does a little and it has bigger mufflers than that flow master...

Has anyone here done the muffler and resonator delete? I was wondering if the drone would be terrible. I'm not a big fan of spending $1000-$1700 on exhaust that will not really make any major horsepower or torque gains. I've seen a few videos on YouTube though. Seems like a cheap way to get rid of some weight and make the truck louder.

Nope, not a single person has switched to straight pipes. You'd be a ground breaker.

I personally don't like the sound coming out of an exhaust with no mufflers. Doesn't sound good. I chose my $1200 Borla ATAK because it gave me the sound I wanted, is stainless steel, and was easy to install myself in my driveway with no cutting or modifying.

No excuse for straight piping unless you are still in high school.

You’ll get the volume, sure but nothing to “shape” the quality/tone of noise, to say nothing of drone.

Can’t say exactly on the Hurricane how it will go, but can’t tell you how many times I saw people straight pipe, or even just resonator delete, an ecoboost, only to either put it back to stock or pony up for a quality cat back shortly after.

We all miss quality v8 rumble driving a blown 6.

But straight pipe won’t get you there. At least with a quality cat back you can achieve preferable sound appropriate for a sports car.

Here’s just one that I found on YouTube.

That dude talking is annoying as hell. And just based on the video of interior sounds sitting and revving in park(which isn't good the the engine) sounds like there will be a lot of drone in the cab when driving.

I was more asking if anyone here has actual experience doing it. It has been done, but as you can see, there isn’t enough information to come to a definitive conclusion. I’m not asking for opinions based on the same videos I’ve watched. I also assume that with turbos, the straight pipe would allow maximum flow. But I’d like some real numbers and real experience.

Build your exhaust properly and a muffler is not a restriction.

Valvetronic is also an option for anyone that’s looking to keep drone under control but be able to open/close valve. Seems to be a cost effective option for the parts at $540 ( as of today’s sale) but installation is going to be the tricky part since it’s recommended to be welded on. But it sort of gives you best of all worlds. Well with a straight six that is… lol

If it's like any other electric cut out ever made, it's not a matter of if the valve will fail, but how soon it will fail. And most of the time they fail open.

Not sure about others, but Valvetronic are considered the best at what they do. So not really sure, haven’t read anything bad about them.

Electric cutouts are junk, but the valvetronic has vacuum actuators, so that seems better in my mind

My Flowmaster is for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested.

Seeking a V8 sound from a V6 is challenging. I'm fortunate to have an alternative, so I'll leave my Rebel exhaust as is. When I get the sound urge, I startup this guy...

Another option is the 3.0L G/T Passive Cold End exhaust it was a great option for the 5.7.
There are a few 2025 G/T's showing up at dealers now but I have not heard how they sound yet.
I have a 2025 G/T and It sounds like a borla exhaust.

It probably does since G/T's have the same cats, downpipes, mid pipes and resonators that the HO uses.
It sounds nothing like the normal SO exhaust. Side by side you can hear the difference at start up and under acceleration.
