Chrysler recalls more than 450,000 vehicles with trailer brakes that could fail (merged threads)

That's terrible customer service. They should be standing behind the vehicles already sold.
Here is another potential wrinkle: More than one person on a Facebook group I follow have stated that their dealer can get the module, what they are waiting on is the seat bolts. So I assume the seat bolts are considered single use. Has anyone else heard that? I removed my rear seats to install covers and reused the bolts with fresh loctite. I wonder if they are "stretch to torque" or if its just the factory applied threadlocker that is the issue.
Oh GREAT, something else to worry about, as to if they do the job right!!!
I'll bet most will just use the old bolts if the above is true.

If this is the correct module and I read the TSB right, looks like im in the clear.

Liability.
The vehicles are crash tested with brand new hardware.

Called the dealer and they don't have an idea when they'll be able to schedule me. They put me on the list and will call me in April for an update.

accroding to Chrysler service manuals alot of bolts are 1 time use including the nut on upper front anti sway bar Link, the seat bolts technically are 1 time use but we've all reused them over the years without issue. I talked to a tech who's been doing these recalls without removing the seat but using a shallow socket and small wrench to get the bolts off unplug the module, plug in replace, reinstall bolts proxi align it with Witech and done.

So my 2026 Warlock is a part of this recall. I don't have the towing package, however. I did purchase the towing module and the switch to add that functionality back in December. I haven't installed either of them yet. Not to mention that the module that I ordered is also a part of the recall. I'm returning the recalled module and I'd like to order another one, but which part # will I need to accomplish what I want?

Same part number but newer version code so the last letter would increase in sequence. Whatever they can order will work as they won't be selling any of the bad ones anyway. Ask your parts guy for what is latest version of the part you have and see how long to get it.

Regardless if you have trailer brake or not all of these trucks have one of the 3 types. Talk to your service department and see if they can install the brake version during the recall for you since it's the same amount of work and they need to do a proxi alignment after. Even if you paid an hour labour would be good deal. Win win for you and tech and recall would be completed as you'd have a non affected part.

I took my 2025 Tungsten in yesterday for the recall. My vehicle is affected, and the dealership said, “We’ve put you on the wait list. We’re allowed to order one module per week. You’re number 60 on the list.” Simple math shows that it will take 60 weeks, nearly 1 year and 2 months. In the meantime, I was told it’s not safe to tow. So we’re all waiting for replacement modules, yet I'm assuming trucks rolling off the assembly line now are not affected. This issue, along with the various Uconnect software bugs, makes me wish I had kept my 2020 Limited.

Trucks built from first one to Nov 2025 were only ones with the module revision numbers that could melt inside. Check the recall it tells you which build dates and which module part numbers are affected. So since Nov 2025 they've been using new part number and chances are it's only this slow right now I bet they will produce a ton of those modules and spread them out much sooner than 60weeks. It's likely only the case now as the recall just came out. There is 3 types of brake controllers depending on what the truck was ordered with. So they have to pump out 3 versions x number or trucks with per modules factory. I'm towing anyway if needed everything is working fine just check that the trailer lights work. If it fails you can then buy an aftermarket lighting controller or brake controller if needed until you get your new module.

OK so here is what you do: go take a new truck for a test drive and do the old switcheroo....

Yeah this is not necessarily true. I ordered what was listed online as the AH revision of the module, I was shipped an AF module that is subject to the recall. This was from a Ram dealer.

Supposedly a batch of the parts was going to ship to dealers last weekend. Not sure what exactly that means, but I assume it’s more than one kit per week.
This was also in a letter from NHTSA to FCA:
"Please be reminded that under 49 U.S.C. § 30112(a)(3), it is illegal for a manufacturer, to sell, offer for sale, import, or introduce or deliver into interstate commerce, a motor vehicle or item of motor vehicle equipment that contains a safety defect once the manufacturer has notified NHTSA about that safety defect. This prohibition does not apply once the motor vehicle or motor vehicle equipment has been remedied according to the manufacturer's instructions."

It’s still interesting to me that my VIN is included in the recall per the NHTSA website, but my Ram app still shows no recalls. It only shows the purge valve campaign.

And the proxi alignment that's required?
Besides being unethical, it wouldn't be easy to remove it where it's located anyway and truck would freak out as soon as you swapped until proxi is done. Good point.

Our truck was affected, build date 07/25/25, thanks to this website, we haven't received a recall notice officially. My dealer (So. Cal.) ordered the part and scheduled an appointment 2 weeks away for the part to arrive and replace the module. Not aware of any part delays or limited supply to the dealers, yet.

You’ve got a good dealer!!
