SGW 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn

One of the "Topdon masters"on their forum advised that a similar happened before with j2534 with Mercedes software, and the solution was updating C++ on your computer. He provided a link to the latest one
See thread here:

Can anyone confirm if you can get it to connect with latest rlink software and updated C++ and or older windows version.

I’m still waiting on the Topdon J2534 fix. It doesn’t seem to be working yet, and I’m surprised it’s taken this long.

it appears to be fixed as of yesterday. someone should try it out

The biggest issue is proxi alignment .
Once that works on topdon then that will be great .
I’ve been able to add off-road pages and was able to do proxi but had to use witech with delearship logged in and doing that procedure .
I’ve also been able to connect to new 14
Inch screen without the SGW even there as it’s on my 18 truck so the SGW code is not needed clearly for some modules
I tried Topdon Rlink X3 which is canfd for 25 plus Witech certified according to speaking to Topdon. Wouldn't do proxy and failed at least 2 module updates worked for rest. So far not impressed with topdons ability to work with Witech properly right now. It corrupted TCM during flash. Had a guy come over with cardaq 3 and with my laptop and Witech sub it flashed first try. So the only difference was Topdon vs cardaq. Lots of money wasted. If anyone has any updates on it working with the green j2534 Topdon for even a proxy alignment please post.

I have a TOPDON j2534 and X7. WiTech2 has worked with both of them, though I did have some challenges. The biggest challenge was that I was originally using them while they're plugged into an OBD splitter. WiTech2 REALLY didn't like that. It would take 45+ minutes at times to perform actions and it would fail randomly. Once I stopped using a splitter with WiTech, the TOPDON devices worked much more reliably. That said, before I found out it was the splitter, I got a Cardaq 3 and used that instead. I have done some token testing with the TOPDON devices afterwards, where it worked for what I was testing, but I haven't used it extensively since I got the Cardaq.

Good info. They claimed the X3 was just a gm, chry, Ford tool but fully capable of j2534 and Witech 2.0 and 25 plus can fd. Cardaq worked fine when TOPDON didn't didn't use any splitter for Witech at any time. Would fail proxy and some module flashing but others worked fine. Retried many times. I'm writing this to see if anyone can confirm the green j2534 currently works to even proxy align and to let others know of my experience to save them the hours, frustration, time and money they will never get back. Thanks for post !

I have an X7, green RLink j2534, and an official MDP. My truck has a bunch of modules with available flash updates (including the TCM). I’ll do some extensive testing this weekend with the flashes and proxi alignments, starting with the X7, and I’ll see how everything behaves.

Thank you I just received the green j2534 Topdon adapter and before I pay for another 3 day would be great to know since I still want to make my alfaobd modificaitons. Do you know how to change tpms sensor threshold or tire size through Witech as opposed to alfaobd ?

WiTech was the only thing I was able to change the TPMS settings on. In “Misc Functions” there was a setting to change the “tire placard pressure” or something along those lines. You can set it for front and rear individually. You have to choose from a populated list of pressures. No proxi alignment was required afterwards.

I’m still trying to figure out the path to making the truck happy with updated tire size…. In theory, you unlock the SGW in Autel, update the settings in AlfaOBD, then in WiTech you initialize ABS, run proxi alignment, turn off the truck and leave it for 15 minutes, then clear DTCs. Proxi alignment doesn’t succeed for all modules on my truck when doing this though.

Thanks for the information what did you use as a tool to run Witech.

At first I blamed my ghost igla and ended up disabling it. It still wouldn't take.

I need to figure out how to get to this misc menu I have a 1 month vin sub I can enable and just need to pay for 3 day tech authority and have the green j2534 now. I have a rebel with diff tires and wheels and want to program it to the spec of a sport. And adjust tire size rho. Thanks so much for sharing brother ! Everyone here has been great with helping out.

I have the Rlink X7, Rlink J2534, and the Cardaq 3. I believe I used the green j2534 with WiTech when I did the TPMS change. The Cardaq seems more responsive and stable when I was trying them, but it costs a lot more. The Rlink devices do seem to work though.

Trying it now it seems to still get stuck on proxi config alignment with aligning ECUs please wait and never completes

That’s the behavior I saw when I was using an OBD splitter. I’m still struggling to get the proxi alignment to work for anything other than returning to stock. There are 4 ECUs that don’t align for me.

That said, I dont believe you need a proxi config alignment for TPMS thresholds change in WiTech. I’m not completely certain of that because I’ve been doing a ton to troubleshoot things for tire size calibration.
