Uconnect system problem

My Ram 1500 Laramie Uconnect system periodically crashes with the screen going black, emitting a loud tone that cannot be silenced, and then restarts (reboots?). This goes on for @:30 seconds. There is no 'ryhme' to it, no pattern, no specific time such as startup or shutdown. Has anyone had any experience with this issue?

From your other post, I see 2023. What size screen?

If the tone sounds like a old modem similar to dial-up, then its a short in the radio unit itself and cannot be repaired. I went through something very similar with my 2017 and had to get the unit replaced.

I have a very similar issue. I've owned the truck for over a year - 2025 Tungsten. It's happening ~4 times. Cannot replicate.

IIRC, twice there was a loud pop like something hit the truck, but it was the speakers. Once it happened during an AutoKinex notification and the other time it was switching from SiriusXM to FM.

Twice it was after manually doing something such as starting the vehicle or pressing a button on the UConnect screen during startup. In these cases, it was the same as what you described - buzzing type noise followed by a reboot.

Considering all of my issues were "triggered" when inputting something into the software, I'm assuming it's a software glitch.

The UConnect software does have a mind of its own at times and isn't as well executed as others.

I don't have all the most current software updates at this time FWIW. I still need to schedule a dealership visit.

Been happening to me for a while and the dealers keep telling me to wait on an update. They don’t have a clue as to the fix.
