Ram Box silver cargo rails

Can you tell me if I need to order new bolts, or can I use the ones from the old rails?

Just purchased a limited longhorn with ram box. Is there a cover that fills the gaps between the tailgate and the ram box? Seems odd that the stock cover doesn’t go over that gap.
Even the Mopar Roll-Up Tonneau Coverhas that gap on RamBox/MFT trucks!

I used 1/4" thick by 1.5" wide heavy density stick-on foam that came on a roll.

I cut pieces to fit the length and stacked 4 pieces to get the ~1" needed to fill the gap.

It's held up for almost 2 years now and it keeps water out very well..at least at those corners..some water gets past the cover-to-MFT top though, as the seal strip isn't a tight fit..and I used the higher pressure Touchless Wash at the car wash.

Well, so far I've managed to find the left hand rail, but not the right hand one, PN 68027048AE. I have looked everywhere. A couple of places online said they had it in stock, but then when I ordered one I'd get an email back saying that it was on backorder status. I tried every dealer I could think of, but it's the same story. Does anybody have any ideas on where to find one of these? If not, who would be the most reliable vendor to use to get one on backorder? Any help would be appreciated!

Try having your local dealer run a national search for in stock parts. If there are any available, they should be able to see that. They might order it directly and have it shipped to them or possibly direct to you. Or they may just say, here is where they are shown as stock items. You should get the dealership name(s) that show on hand stock. It will be up to you to call the parts department and see if you can purchase the rail. Always ask them to “put a hand on it” to guarantee they actually have it. Pay the price & shipping—done. You also may find a dealer with the part you need, but sometimes they won’t just sell it unless you are a direct customer.
When I went through this, I got lucky as I found a coworker that wanted a cover. So I sold mine to him (cheap) but told him I needed the silver rails because he would need the black rails to work with the factory cover.

That's how I found the left hand side rail! I found a dealer in Iowa and got it from them. I called again today, and they told me that here is something like 200 of these on backorder nationwide, and no dealer is showing one in stock.

Well, damn, that sucks. How about from a junkyard source such as CoPart? I’m not sure if that name is accurate, and maybe someone can chime in with some sources.

I finally tracked down a right hand rail, but I'm not sure I got the correct part. The part I ordered was 68027048AE, but the part they sent me is 68027048AD. From what I can find, it looks like the parts are interchangeable, but I'm hoping this won't be an issue. I think I found the only right had rail available in the whole country! Can anybody confirm that this older version won't be an issue?

Should be good. Just a letter change which IMO just indicates it is an updated part number. Main number is the same. Could just be a recent batch possibly from a different manufacturer. There is probably an older version that ends with *****AC.

Yes, those worked on my 2026 Tungsten
Great thank you for confirming, I placed an order for them and confirming with merchant. Next step is choosing a hard tonneau. Hoping for some sales as we approach black Friday.

I went with the RetraxPro MX. I had it on my last Ram and really liked it. I hope you have better luck getting those rails that I did. It took me forever to find them actually in stock. I ended up having to buy one from two different dealers.

I found the AE rails (68027048AE Right, 68027049AE Left) at World Parts Direct for $166 each. Shipping was outrageous. Tried other sites with same parts but shipping cost was all about the same and higher price for the parts.

I had a Lomax Hard trifold on my 2020 Limited w/ Ram Boxes and MF tailgate. I should have taken it off when I traded it in and had the dealer put on new Limited. I didn't know about the rails on the mopar cover that came with it. I may go with same cover again but have a some time to compare and contrast.

Glad you were able to get the parts you needed and put the proper cover on that Tungsten. I was considering a Tungsten too, but got a much better deal on the Limited. Dealer wasn't willing to budge on Tungsten.

I've had Retrax and BakFlip (hard tri-fold) in the past.

Then I put a Bak Revolver on my '19. After having that for 3 years, I put another Revolver on the used '21 I bought and I now I have a Revolver on my '25.

I like the Revolver SO much better than I liked the couple of Retrax's and the BakFlip I had. They were good, but I like the Revolver better.

That's funny. The same thing happened to me with the 2025 Limited I traded in on this Tungsten. They both had the Ram Boxes and MF tailgate, so I thought the rails would be the same. I didn't think about the Tungsten coming with the factory tonneau cover. If I'd have been smarter, I would have worked out a way to swap the tonneaus and rails between the two trucks before I changed trucks! I was originally going to get another Limited, but the difference in price with Mark Dodge was low enough that I went with the Tungsten.

I actually checked with World Parts Direct when I was looking. They showed them as in stock online at the time, but then told me they'd be on backorder. Glad they got them back in stock!
