with proper prep work they work really well and when applied properly, the protection layer will be infused to the metal so even if the paint chips off it's still protected from the elements.
without proper prep work they're just like regular paint can come off and have no protection.
the only downside is it's a bit expensive but the plus side is you can reapply (assuming there's no rust) and the color will match.
