2025 Battery Issues

So, the dealer checked the battery said it's ok, guess they recharged it and say its holding fine. but they say the only thing they have done is removed the Rough Country eboard power steps wires from the battery. I'm surprised if it's the steps because they have been on the truck for 6 weeks and work fine, no dead battery. Now overnight the truck drained the battery somehow. Hmmm, i still think it's a software thing, even the dealer said they have a continuous communication issue with the new rams that basically has it drawing power all the time. If the dealer gives it back and battery is holding charge, i'll connect the eboards again and test for parasitic draw. I'd ask them to check that but i'm sure they won't given its an aftermarket gizmo.

Not just new RAMS. 2022 here that's doing it too. 'cept I'm surrounded by incompetent dealers that say it's working as expected (hint, coming out to the truck to find the battery at 11.7V 2 hours after a 3.5 hour drive is not working correctly).

Hey everyone - Not really looking for a solution here, but more curious if anyone has had similar issues, and if they were ever resolved.

I recently traded in my 2500 Ram Power Wagon (2022) that I loved and never had a single issue with, but having owned a 1500 previously, I had been looking to go back for the better gas mileage and a more reasonable size for someone living in a city.

The first morning after purchasing my truck, I woke up to a dead battery. I had it replaced by the dealership and chalked it up to a truck that had been sitting on the lot for too long. All was good until a month later when I the battery died again. This was the Friday after Thanksgiving, so I was stuck with a dead battery until the dealership opened back up on Monday. On Friday/Saturday, I jumped the battery and was able to take multiple trips throughout the day with the truck being off for about 5 hours between drives. On Sunday, I jumped the truck to run to the store. In the time I was in the store, the battery died and I had to jump the truck in the parking lot. One interesting thing I noticed is that the lock/unlock feature did not work since the first time the battery died on friday. Even while driving, the doors wouldn't lock/unlock electronically.

The big issues start on Monday. I go to jump the truck and take it to the dealership, and the truck will not start. I attempted to jump it from my Noco 1750A (battery is only 800CCA), my girlfriends sedan, and a city truck (F250) that saw my struggling and stopped to help. At this point, my shifter knob is just floating and free spinning between P/N/R/D.

At this point, I call a tow truck and have the truck taken to the dealership. The dealership is claiming they are hooking it up to a diagnostic machine that can take "up to 6 hours"...

I am waiting to hear back currently and see how big of an issue it is, but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues on a 2025 1500. I see numerous post talking about phantom drain, but no one has mentioned issues that stem this far.
Has anyone found the problem with there batteries going dead?

Hi all, I just got my 2025 Laramie back from the dealership after the 3rd time being towed since purchase. Third time replacing the batteries. Apparently what they told me is that the parasitic drain was from a dealer installed LoJack system. They removed it...let's see if this will fix the issue, if not, LemonLaw steps will be taken...truck has 13000 miles and less than a year in my possession!

It looks like I'm joining the dead battery club. I've put 34,000 miles in it but recently was given a company vehicle and my truck has been sitting without much use. I started it last week no problem, went to get in it for church this morning and it was absolutely dead.

I've tried charging both batteries and the lights on the dash come on and I can use my radio but it won't even attempt to start. It's just a click and nothing. I've also tried jump starting and using my booster, nothing works.

I have noticed lately that noise coming from the engine bay that sounds like something cycling had been occurring more often lately. I'm going to assume that has something to do with it.

This is extremely frustrating!

I am going to check if its a battery drain problem or if the PCM is not having the alternator charge the battery fully. I think that sensor that is on the negative terminal on the battery measures the batteries current so the PCM can regulate the alternator output. I am not 100% sure on that. I wish I had a schematic of the charging system.

I get that noise from the dash about a minute after I shut it down. Something cycles and I don't know what it is. It doesn't last long and sounds like mechanical stuff putting itself in standby. I have also noticed that if I am sitting in the truck when it happens, when I go to start it, I have to push the button twice. the first press just wakes the truck up. It's very weird.

For All… 2025 RAM 1500 Laramie owner here…. Battery issues galore since purchase in February. Dealer in Kentucky was absolute *** about any resolution.

Took to a much bigger dealer in Illinois and they said a patch was deployed for RAM trucks (software ruins everything lol), that addresses this issue. Something about the lift gate sensor triggering non stop causing the truck to think it’s open so it’s just firing signals nonstop for no reason. Drains said battery.

This was also apparently impacting the wireless phone charge pads? My new iPhone would get HOT as heck and not actually charge.

Since getting the truck back today, charge pads are not boiling my phone alive but we will see about the battery. I sure hope Dodge does something about all our back and forth. I had to buy a jump box just to feel safe driving it anywhere for an extended period of time.

Cheers fam!

Weird about phone thing. I think mine gets hot too, but it charges. My battery/batteries were dead this morning but been ok since we bought it in November last year. So not sure if a nature thing plus the truck is not driven most days more than 2 blocks between houses so figured that is not good as well. I have had a few things happen but not lately.
1. Says front left turn signal out.
2. Blue screen when backing up. Weirdly only when backing up out front of one house never anywhere else?
3. When I was on a longer trip all tire sensors when crazy one at a time and then corrected themselves. I pulled off the interstate and checked the tires and turn off the truck for a few minutes to see if that would fix and it didn't. So, I just got back on the interstate and had the annoying binging until for whatever reason they fixed themselves.

Start @ 6:20

I keep my keys in a faraday pouch, no battery issues. I also have proximity turned off

Ive had battery issues since truck was new, only 30k miles and on second battery.

I'll wake up to a completely dead battery about once every 2 or 3 months for last 4 years. It's been to 2 diff dealers, one said nothing g wrong, other put in a new battery 18 months ago, seemed better, but still not reliable.

It had a battery tender since first battery replacement, but still even after driving it for 100 miles (no tender overnight) battery was stone dead next morn. My jump pack wouldn't start it, but jumper cables did. Thankfully in my driveway.

I charged it overnight, did a load test.... held 12.3 volts.

Drove it yest for 90 miles, all highway and voltmeter was stable at 13vdc. (Usually its at 13.8 or so). It was rpm sensitive but not like you'd think. At rpms greater than 2000 (highway) voltmeter read 13.0 volts, never changed, but when I slowed down it would jump up to 13.8, 13.2, 13.6, not stable at all. This is first time in 4 years it's done that.

I'm thinking another bad battery but weird that load test showed good. I've heard that oem batteries are junk. This upcoming 3rd battery I have to pay for, will be a good one. I carry both 20 foot cables and jump pack last 3 years.... just never know when it will be dead..... may take 2 or 3 mos for it to happen, but never an issue when on tender, but one or 2 nights wo it.... may be dead, sometimes 5 days w NO tender and its ok.

VERY FRUSTRATING
