Speedometer/Cruise control discrepancy

I have noticed that if I use cruise to increase my speed by more that a couple mph then the truck overshoots the target and seems to hang above the set point for a little while before dropping back down.
If I bump it up 1 or 2 mph it is fine, but if I hit it 5 or 10 mph it doesn't seem to like it.
It's a button, not a *****, don't diddle it so fast.

My 2013, my 2016, and my 2024 have all had dead accurate cruise control. Set to 60 and it maintains 60. Not 59 or 61. I don't care if it is calibrated by the moon. It just works.

Maybe just lucky but in the US mostly in mid Atlantic area, I've driven 500,000 miles typically at 8ph over the limit and never a ticket. The poor Aussies ticked at1mph, that's unimaginable. I know guys who say you need to not exceed 5 over in this country, but thats not been my experience. Now I will knock on some wood.
