been waiting for these running boards to become available - has anyone installed the 2024 option? I’ve heard the wiring setup could be different for the 25. I’ve reached out and RealTruck says there’s no time available for release yet.

Oh man you have no idea how timely your post is! I have the same truck, took it to a shop that recommend the AMP e-Boards, but asked ME to verify with the dealer if the dimensions on the '25 were the same as the '24 - they never asked me to check on the electrical (and I know nothing about electrical which is why I wanted a professional installer). Now my truck is sitting in their shop, boards bolted on, and they cannot get the wiring properly installed - said they've been working on it all day. My first new truck plus a pricey aftermarket purchase for me) and now I'm not sure what is going to happen. Does ANYONE have any experience with this OR a solution?

Yep, amps aren’t going to work on a 2025. It’ll be a while before they figure out a set for 2025’s.

This is the only other set I like, and they said the same thing. No time table for the 25 option.
BoostAuto

I don’t want to buy the Rhino magnet option if I can help it, I feel like AMPs are a cleaner install.

Exactly the same here.... AMP retractable steps are installed in the "up" position and the shop talked to everyone re final wiring....4 months out! Already getting tired of boosting my wife in :sneaky:

I've installed them on my '25. I didn't know they weren't compatible until I tried to hook up the OBD2 plug and couldn't find the green block of plugs anywhere. I've already drilled the holes into the pinch weld so I'm not taking them off. I was able to get them to work through the app though. The wiring to the motors were reversed so I had to flip those around to get them to deploy when pressing the deploy button and retract accordingly.

Months later from the original post and still no wiring solution. This truck is too popular to not come up with a fix.

Just installed the amp research on my 2025 ram 1500 quad cab. Very simple. Hit me up with any concerns.

2025 ram 1500 rebel, purchased the new plug and play decided would be too much work for me so took to authorized dealer. they took like 4 hours to install. steps dont alway come down. also notice some electrical issues such as ram logo not lighting up when i open my doors from the mirrors to concrete. any ideas?

So i unplugged from odb connector and turned off vehicle for at least half hour, now seems to be working. Cannot explain it or have any idea how long it will last.

DId you found the blue/white and tan wires near the OBD plug? I find them but they are on the left side of the connector and the instructions say they should be on the right side of the connector

Where did you plug in the two little wires that come in the cab with the OBD connector?

I just installed mine last weekend. The instructions say connect them to the blue wire with a white stripe and the tan wire. I didn't have a tan wire just a white wire. Verified with tech support that the white wire is correct. They are the 2 far right wires on the connector. Mine work great so far, after I rewired the connectors to the motors. I got one of the lucky sets that was reversed from the factory, so they retracted when I opened the door and extended when I closed it.

Picture of the 2 connections Real Truck tech support provided below. As above, shows the white wire connected to the truck blue/white stripe, blue wire connected to truck white. Install instructions on pg 8 and 9 state:

The second instruction would seem to contradict both the first instruction and picture, but I'm wondering if this might explain the reversal noted in jokel76 post? If these are the door open/close signal lines, then perhaps blue-blue and white-white would avoid the reversal. Pg9, which contains the 2nd instruction, is a direct transplant from the pre-2025 install instructions for 76240-01A powersteps. I don't believe the 76404-01A pass through harness will work on the 2025 with its new software architecture. Did you guys try this harness? Plan to query AMP Research tech support on this.

I did not get the pass thru harness so I can't comment on that part. I do know that on the OBDII install step i just connected the one yellow wire from the main control box to the the yellow wire on the OBDII connector.
When I got done with my first attempt at install and the steps were working backwards, I thought I screwed up the wiring and swapped those blue and white trigger wires and the steps didn't work at all, so i swapped them back to what it looks like in the pic. That's when I used my certified you tube mechanic troubleshooting skills and found several videos of the step motors themselves wired backwards. Just had to take apart the connectors at the motors and swap the wires.
