Bear with me here I know this is a lot.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 bighorn. I am second owner, purchased the limited dealership warranty that covers repairs until 120k miles, my truck is at 65k. Recently the speakers above my drivers seat and the plastic piece above the rear window started to leak.

I am going to upload the photos in order based on what happened first

First, one of the speakers started to leak during a heavy rain. Brought the truck to the dealership and they replaced the 3rd brake light for free, but charged me $200 for a diagnostic fee. I wouldn’t have minded the diagnostic fee if they actually fixed the leak. But nonetheless the leak was repaired for about 2 weeks. Until-

About 2 weeks later it poured again. Went to get in my truck just as the rain stopped and saw the entire driver side of my truck DRENCHED. Water all over the door panel, all over the center console and a little on the steering wheel, and infotainment screen. Floor was a puddle and my seat (which is heated) was completely soaked. Water came in from both speakers this time and just ran in all directions through the headliner until it dripped all over the front drivers side of my truck. Back window leaked again and trickled down my back seat.

Called the dealership and told them what happened. Their water leak guy only comes once a week so I was told to just deal with the leak until then🤣🤣. Took the truck back in, Service department said it would cost me $350 for their water leak guy to reseal areas on the back window and a little on the sunroof. There were no parts replaced and nothing dissembled or taken apart. Only thing used to repair the leak was the sealant.

Was now very pissed because didn’t they fix the leak and are charging me $350 on top of the diagnostic fee I already paid.$350 to reseal the window again that they just fixed? How is that even possible?? My whole front seat was flooded, and my back seat was wet. how did this happen again and why didn’t they catch it when they replaced the 3rd brake light?? what the hell did they do that causes my truck to leak 100x worse than it did the first time. They didn’t even clean the stain on the headliner or clean off the watermarks on my door panel or center console after i politely asked them to. Whatever they did after the first leak caused it to leak so so much worse.

Asked the serviceman why it costs $350 just to use some silicone on a leak they should’ve fixed and he said because the water leak guy was hard to get a hold of and charged a lot for his services. Why did it have to take my truck to leak again for them to realize the leak was more than just the 3rd break light and sunroof drain?

Fought for a better answer and maybe a better price but they wouldn’t budge on price and kept saying they couldn’t give me an exact answer, and I needed my truck back asap since it’s my only form of transportation.
(They had already started the repair before I knew the price)

In total I was in $550 for this leak, is that a reasonable price for the amount of work done of did I get taken advantage of?
Thanks.

😲 Wow

Probably SOL on the sunroof, but the rear window and CHMSL should've been covered under the Stellantis warranty extension... if your build date falls within their seemingly random build date range. My local dealer doesn't charge a diagnostic fee for warrantied items.
