Thought this might help someone:
Regular oil changes are critical to keep your engine running smoothly. Find the right oil for your needs & schedule an oil change with a Mopar® technician.
www.mopar.com
I just looked at that link. The only relevant offer I see is 2 full synthetic oil changes, up to 6 qts, for $130.
But, when you click for details, it says:
"Additional charges may apply for engines with oil capacity that exceeds 6 qts, HEMI® engines, premium synthetic oil and fluid disposal."
So, what does that mean? They can charge you extra for needing more than 6 qts of oil.
They can charge you extra if you have a Hemi.
They can charge you extra for "premium synthetic oil"?? The coupon is for "full synthetic", so do they have premium and non-premium oil that are both "full synthetic"? WTF?
And they can charge you extra for fluid disposal.
And later it says: "Customer is responsible for local tax, Shop Supplies fee and disposal fees."
So, they can also tack on an extra charge for "shop supplies".
What. The. Heck?
$65 per oil change plus the cost of 2 extra quarts of oil, plus charges for:
- premium synthetic
- fluid disposal
- shop supplies
- tax
That sounds like it could be WAAY more than the $65 they make it sound like you're getting an oil change for.... I guess it's $65 for an oil change on a Pentastar. Otherwise, it's still however much the dealer decides to rap.... uhh, charge you for.
"Oh, yeah. The extra 2 quarts, plus the upcharge for "premium synthetic" plus the fluid disposal and shop supplies comes out to $185. So, your total today with tax is $275 - less the $65 you already paid. That will be $210, sir. Thank you very much."
