I have a 12" screen which is not getting the OTA updates. I am on 59.6 and it should be 60.1. Does anyone know if we can get the updates done ourselves. Dealer wants to charge over $100 for this. Called FCA and Uconnect and they said that dealer would have to do it and I would have to pay - why, just bec. your software has glitches and needs patches, and your programming doesn't allow it to update OTA why do we, the customers have to foot that bill. We did not cause any of this. Venting, but really disappointed that 2 issues have absolutely no support from RAM.

What does the application version say? DM me if you'd like!

What does updating provide? I'm disappointed that we never got full screen android auto or apple carplay. I have a 2020 12".

What are you talking about here? The display aspect ratio is all wrong for a full screen map. Or do you mean for all the icons and such and the map would be at the top of the screen like it is now?

Updating the software just solves some bugs that some people report. Such as bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto improvements, XM connectivity improvements. Sometimes there's a map package that doesn't seem to really update the maps a lot, but maybe corrects some names of streets.

As for the Full Screen Android Auto, the Uconnect 4 (2019-2021) never offered full screen Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto. The UConnect 5 (2022-2025) offers full screen Apple CarPlay, but rumors are that a future Uconnect software update will also provide full screen Android Auto.

Vertical full screen android auto and car play both exist. Car play is in UConnect 5 (2022+) and as Dave said AA may still be coming.

Ok I just had never seen it. How cool. I wish my Uconnect4 could do it.

Here are a couple screen shots I took from our product page listings if anybody wanted to see the differences.

The Uconnect 5, when an app is opened, there is a "Maximize" icon on the top right of the app, that will stretch it to full screen.

This is what CarPlay looks like on the Uconnect 4 UAX (Factory to the 2019-2021)

And this is the same screen on the Uconnect 5 UBQ (Factory to 2022+) at least until you open an app, then you can split the screen with two apps, or maximize one to full screen.
