Need a rear bed step for 2025 Ram 1500 Limited

You beat me to the punch -- glad we found the right one (without much help from Ram).
Yeah, the dealers kept saying it wouldn't fit. But it sure does! I'm currently trying to find the filler plate for the 14 inch screen now that I've added a brake controller. Original filler plate was one big piece. I think I'll start a new thread on that tomorrow asking for help

I hope mine gets to the dealer this week so that they can install it and admit they screwed up with the wrong part.

Did you ever get 82216597AC installed? Im currently finding out that 82215289AH hits the bumper hard when extended or retracted. I've read this thread and see it works for a Rebel X. I have a 2025 Tradesman.

They're installing it Monday. I know it's gonna fit because I've confirmed it with several higher level Mopar reps way more knowledgeable that my dealer for sure.

I just installed 82216597AC on my 2025 Ram Laramie. It fits and doesn't hit anything, even when extended. The only thing I feel is different is I feel that it's not as hidden as in the older models. I don't know if they changed that black molding under the bumper or not but I feel like it's more visable.

82216597AC I it installed last night on my 2025 Tradesman. Confirmed fit.
I went to the Ram dealer and crawled under a few trucks with a bumper step and pulled the part number off of them to confirm the number. 68582251AB is the number that was on the ones at the lot, but it was superseded by the number I referenced above. I got lucky and found one on Facebook Marketplace for $210 and decided to try my luck with it. Pics attached.

Got my truck back today from the dealer today and just like I said, it was the right bed step -- 82216597AC. I just wish they'd listened to me earlier, but at least they made it right so that I wouldn't have to buy the correct one!

So part # 82216597AC should fit a 2025 1500 Big Horn quad cab?

Appreciate the pics! Was it difficult to manipulate the step around the exhaust? Looking up under my 2025 Bighorn it looks pretty tight!

I bought one off of Amazon - actually two - the first one Did not fit even though it shows same Model Replacement info ... apparently this manugfacture actually paid attention to the 2025 Model Bighorns - or they got lucky here is the info: 20 Minute install for an old Fat guy

JDMSPEED New Rear Bed Step Retractable Bumper Step Replacement for Dodge Ram 1500 DT Dual Exhaust Vehicles 2019 2020 2021 2022 (New Body Style) Replaces 82215289AG 82215289AH- I watched this video before I attempted it:

that's not the correct one. It's not supposed to hit the tail pipe when it retracts. That's what mine was doing that the dealer put on.

I kept nagging them to install the proper one for the 2025+ models and I found the correct mopar part and they agreed to install thankfully.

I'm also glad they installed it as I would probably break multiple connectors and lose my mind in the process!

Your right it is right snug on the tail pipe- but At least it fits 99.98% I figure a well placed washer or a little manual repositioning will fix that .. less than 1/8 inch needed... for a aftermarket part I call it a win... Kinda :)

I just couldn't deal with the clanking every time. The ones for the pre '25s also hit the bumper too. The impact was quit violent on the bumper and the tailpipe. The dealer "adjusted" it multiple times before I said "this can't be the right part" and I actually found the correct one

If it doesn't specify 82216597AC, it won't fit properly. The $100 Amazon model most people link will hit the bumper and tailpipe really hard.
There is a new one on Amazon I have not tried but it specifies the correct 25+ part number. Unfortuntely it is quite a bit more expensive at $245. Still cheaper than OEM.
