buddy of mine has a 2025 laramie 1500 with the 360 degree camera equipped. he was wondering if he could swap the previous style tow mirrors (shown below) onto his truck 100% plug and play? TIA!

looks like they don't have blind spot indicators. if he has 360 camera and blind spot detection why do the swap??? for looks?

it was just a quick image off google. and no he is wanting to convert to the tow mirrors for easier visibility while towing.

On a 2025 why not get the new tow mirrors? The 2025's have a lot of things different with the BCM, so earlier years may not be plug and play.

he found a couple listings in the area of the previous style tow mirrors for sale, more cost effective in his situation.

perhaps some programming would do the trick or is it more complicated than that?

From what I've read on here it's how the BCM interacts with the rest of the truck is different for 25+ MY's compared to 19-24. I was looking at changing my 2020 non-towing mirrors to the 2025's as they're very similar to what I had in my Titan (and loved them), but the electrical/BCM burden was too much to mess with.

i have a feeling that programming it to power fold and have blind spot activated should be easy (previous style tow mirrors), i just don't want my buddy to take the risk and it doesn't work out for him in the end.

They’ll fit.
The cameras for the 2025 surround view camera system are different part numbers than previous years, so those might have to be swapped out.
All of the wiring in the three connectors on the mirrors need to be rearranged because the circuits are all in different positions on the 2025’s.
If there are any features on the previous style mirrors that are not on his current mirrors, there’s no way to program them to work at the moment.

gotcha (y)

do you believe it would be easy to rearrange the said connectors?
also his tow mirrors he is looking at has camera, blind spot, heated and power fold.
