Adding Passive Entry: How-to

Looking for help please. Gearing up to do this mod on my 2021 ram 1500 DT, but its Delmonico Red, with body colored door handles. I only see that color in the HD chart? I'm guessing that the numbers would be as listed for the 1500 except with the "NRV" color code inserted? So then would the numbers be this?
DOOR HANDLES - 6CV64NRVAD
CAP L - 6CV50NRVAC
CAP R - 6CV52NRVAD
Regarding the rear antenna, it seems the "521" part number has both holes on one side while the "560" has holes on opposite sides? Any idea which is a better fit for the 2021 truck?
Also, does the left cap automatically have the keyhole? Any tips on which site has the best pricing? Thank You.

not sure if this helps but the HD part numbers for the door handles will not work on your truck. Maybe you already figured that out but I did not investigate the part numbers you posted. For the rear antenna the number of holes doesn’t matter. There was a part # that worked but was much cheaper when this thread was started. That cost difference might not be a factor anymore. Buy the one that is cheapest and is confirmed to work in this thread. If the holes don‘t match up just drill a new hole in the plastic or come up with a different way to mount it.

I didn't use the HD part numbers, I added what I believe is the Delmonico red color code to the 1500 part numbers. As for the antennas, I'll have to crawl under there and see where the holes are at. They're both cheap.

Finally got it all done and programmed. Love everything about except the fact that my A.R.E topper doesn’t unlock when using the tailgate release. It gets its signal from the door locks and the doors don’t unlock with the tailgate button but the tailgate unlocks when the doors do. Weird but I can live with it.

I originally bought all the parts to do this PE install to my granite crystal metallic '19 Bighorn Level 2. I never found the time to install the parts and now I'm trading it in on a granite crystal metallic '24 Bighorn Night Edition Level B on Monday.

I would like to add PE to my '24 and I just need to know if everything in this guide is the same for the '24?

Since my '24 is a Night Edition, it has black door handles. Does anyone know the part number for the PE door handles for a night edition or does anyone know the color code for the black handles? I'm thinking I could paint the crystal granite metallic ones that I bought previously but that would probably cost more than buying the black handles. Thoughts?

It should still work fine for a 24. Diamond Crystal is the color and it is in the original posts.

If you are ordering from online places don't put your vin in and then they will just ship them.

Just got done installing the drivers side. Still need to install the antenna for the rear, but I did program everything through JSCAN. So far, the PE is working, however my door lock buttons on the control pad mounted to the drivers side door are not working. The passengers side is. Also, the key fob locks and unlocks the door. Everything was working fine prior to.

Any idea what is going on?

Oddly enough, or maybe not so oddly enough, it started working again. Maybe it was just the control modules updating? Either way, it's all installed on both doors and all is well. Thanks for those who came before me!

I’ve got a programming question. I’ve noticed that when the doors are already unlocked and I grab the door handle the truck wants to unlock again. Is that normal? I used JSCAN to program and everything lined up with AlfaODB instructions except I could not find this option “Cust.Prog.Features- Passive Entry Unlock All Doors or Approach Door- ENABLED” but everything otherwise seems to be working, including unlocking all the doors so I wouldn’t think that is causing what I am experiencing. I did find a post by @Jimmy07 thst talks about AP5 that I did not program. I search of the demo shows two AP5’s. AP5 trunk and AP5 Trunk Lock. @Jimmy07 (or anyone else who knows) do I set both of those to smart switch?

I am hoping someone might be able to help me.

I am trying to make both rear doors passive entry via the passenger side and keep the front driver door separate. The idea is to keep the front driver door the only one to unlock via driver front door passive entry.

I asked Jimmy07 about this and he said "Yes, that’s what you’ll have to do if you want to keep that setting."

I got the rear passenger door to work. What I am trying to do is have the rear driver door operate the same way by connecting to the rear passenger door wiring.

I have tried by splicing into the 1 and 7 wires for the rear door where it runs inside the door column to the 1 and 7 wires that should tap into green/white and green/yellow wires on the drivers side. That did not work. There is no response from the driver rear door handle but the passenger rear door handle still works.

I swapped out handles on the rear driver and passenger doors and it still worked on the passenger side so it's not the handles.

I disconnected from the splices on the passenger side and connected the driver side to the splices but that didn't work.

I tested for continuity between the rear driver door handle plug and the other ends of the harness wires from Jimmy07 and that checked out.

Right now I am at a loss on how this is not working. Logically it makes sense that it should.

Yes, totally normal. It is the same when you push the unlock button on the inside of the door. Or try to lock after lock. It should be smart enough to know, but it isn't.

Thanks @l84dnr and @vincentw56. Any thoughts on the AP5 part? The tailgate is working so it may already be enabled but I'm out of town for a few days and can't check the JSCAN programming.
