I've owned 2 different 6.7 Cummins and really miss the torque when pulling a trailer. I know all about the HPFP and have been here watching how everyone has been dealing with it. I won't be daily driving the truck and it will mostly pull our 26' 5,500lb travel trailer and do 45 minutes to an hour trips around our county on the weekends. My biggest question is how do they do the start/stop feature in the 3.0? The truck I have now is in my signature. Thanks

You got the answer you were looking for but I'll chime in to say I'm pulling almost the exact same size trailer around the North Carolina Mountains and it tows like a dream. I don't have a way to compare it to the Hemi but I think you'll be very happy with it.

Thanks. I've been reading that people are getting around 12-14 mpgs with around the same size trailer. My Hemi gets 10ish on a good day. This truck is a buy back, same year as mine. Only 30,000+/- miles, Laramie. I'm not sure I can pull it off with the interest rates. I'm retired and really don't have that much disposable income, and really don't need to extend a new loan. I just can't keep from looking, they're like eye candy to me.

If it's a buy back I'd be very cautious.
I have 142,000km on my ecodiesel and love it. I tow a lot in the winter and it does fantastic. The low end torque really makes it effortless.
I've been GDE tuned since 100,000km.

I would run, not walk, away from it. If I read this right,it has had the fuel pump replaced twice, they reprogrammed Then had to replace the engine control module. Plus a few other issues. Seems to me to be a bad truck

Thanks. It seems like it's definitely had a lot of issues. The second fuel pump looks to be the HPFP recall.

I wouldn't touch that truck w/ a 10 ft pole seems like a potential headache if you as me. Keep what you have. What you’ll be saving on fuel, you’ll be spending on increasing interest rates and extending out another loan (assuming your current truck is financed as well). On top of diesel prices/maintenace/repairs. Is it really worth it?

That's all been rolling around in my head. My 5.7 just turned 25,000 miles and will be paid off in 3 years.

You know what you have and I'm assuming you purchased that new as well.

Roll of the dice if the other truck would fair as well.. Vegas odds are you a gambler lol.

I would personally keep what you have and deal with the less mpg while towing. Diesel prices in my area as well as the numerous other states I visit while on the road working are a good $.35-.40 a gallon more then say 87. I won’t do the math but probably not worth the increase unless your going 2500 cummins etc.

I bought my 1500 September 2022 with only 11,300 miles on it. I have owned two different CTD'S and miss my 2018. The HD'S are just to tall to deal with for me anymore. But you're right, I do know what I have invested at this point in my truck. Just needed to hear another opinion. Definitely appreciate your time.
