It has been a while since I posted on here. Just wanted to share a couple things about repairs and maintenance on my 2020 eTorque, about 46k miles.
About a month ago I changed the differential fluid to Valvoline Synpower synthetic. It was really easy to do (easier than an oil change (8mm fill...
My next truck will probably be a Chevy. I don't like Ford (had a 2018), and don't want a V6 turbo if a V8 is an option. Then again, if in the new generation of the V8 GM still doesn't make it dual injected and only direct injected, I'll be looking at RAM again and Toyota. Still have 3-4 more...
As to the OP...
Differential fluid was not due yet. Takes 5 or 6 quarts at $15 each to do front and rear and is easier than engine oil to change. You did get ripped off there, but it is done so...
Brake fluid is more about time than mileage. Not bad to get it done every 3 or 4 years. But...
Pre covid last year's model BH could be had 30% off around Christmas. So 2019 MY would be 30% off Dec 2019 (similar in prior years, too).
Now there are limited discounts and prices have skyrocketed.
Same. 2020 Laramie moderately optioned. Sticker was $55k built Aug 2020 and (last I checked two months ago) would be $68k. Insane. And now they have taken away fender flares. Can get a High Country for that.
I plan to change the rear differential fluid myself this summer with Valvoline synthetic. It is easier than changing the oil. Right now at 33k miles and put on about 1k per month. I don't even think I used 4x4 once last winter, and maybe 3 or 4 times since having the truck (less than 1 hour...
I would look hard at GM once the new v8 is released (probably 2025). RAM has always been the brand where you get more per MSRP and rebates were great. Now my mildly optioned Laramie is over $68k in a 2023. 26% increase since Aug 2020 build. Insane. That is the same MSRP as a better-optioned...
