You're thinking is right, you could use the factory sub as a mid bass, but you need to cut off its frequencies at the right point, and in order to do so you need a DSP.
But, in reality, your new subwoofer will be able to handle all those frequencies by itself...….
I'm not sure what cab...
Why would you want to do that ? Aftermarket sub + factory sub= if you don't have a good DSP to phase align them properly: all they're going to do is to conflict with each other's frequencies, you won't get their real potential, lot's of insignificant rumble, annoying doubled and / or cancelled...
The AudioControl LC2i is only a speaker level signal(s) line converter. You will be converting a signal that is already been processed by your HK amplifier.
The PAC AP4-CH41 (R.2) picks up the source signal before the HK amplifier / processor. The advantage on doing so is: 1. you get a cleaner...
The pac amp-pro ap4-ch41(R.2) works well, that's what I have on my HK system upgrade.
It has 6 channels pre-amp outputs (front, rear and non fading / subwoofer) and a bass knob.
You can use 2 channels out of the PAC to connect a mono amp and subwoofer (chanel 5 & 6, so you can use the bass...
LOL ! That's a funny answer...... :ROFLMAO: Yes my brother, you're s..... out of luck ………. Hey! At least you have Bluetooth!!
But unlike us "big rollers" with the fancy brand name sound systems: if you ever were to upgrade your truck stereo in the future, believe me it will be a lot easier...
I had the same Stealthbox on my 2016 RAM, what I did was: I replaced the 10w3v3 with a 10w6v3-D4, mounted on a "3/8 spacer to clear the bottom of the box.
Even so the box was kind of undersized for a 10w6, it was feed with a JL 600/1 Slash v3 amplifier that was signal processed by a Helix DSP...
I named mine: "RAMZILLA !" LOL! ... Just joking, no I don't name any of my vehicles.
But it would a cool name for a super lifted, big tires etc, etc...... beast of a truck type :)
I thought about that same location several times, it makes the most sense.
Do you happen to know who this guy is ? It would be nice to get some feedback / tips in how to carefully disassemble the left side of the center console.
If your radio is "non amplified" the easiest location to tap into the rear speakers wires would be behind the radio (Black 52 pin plug, pins 48-52 and 45-49)
If your radio "has an amplifier" the easiest way would be to tap into the amplifier gray 22 pin plug (pins 4-15 and 5-16, for the rear...
That's a nice location, unfortunately mine has the trailer brake controller in there. So, until I find a good spot without drilling a hole in the center console: this is were I wedged mine.
