Official thread for pictures of Ram towing campers

If we were going further and longer, we’d need more gear, So I would I would want the payload to support that. Right now we don’t carry much gear with us in the camper or truck but I would expect that we would need more to support longer/further trips. The other is weather conditions...

Official thread for pictures of Ram towing campers

Thank you! Yeah it’s at the upper end of a half ton’s capabilities, though it towed super well taking it home! We pretty much camp within a 4 hour radius (most of the time less), if we were going further or multi day tows I would upgrade to a 3/4 Ton.

Official thread for pictures of Ram towing campers

Just picked up the new camper yesterday - Alpha Wolf 33BHL. Traded in a Sunset Trail 262BH. Interesting thing is that the the new camper is about 7’ longer however it seemed to be much more stable when towing. More tongue weight and better hitch setup is what I am attributing it to. Towed...

Factory trailer brake controller - can it work automatically below 15 mph?

FYI - just got home from a tow today, noticed this exact same problem with my truck as well. I have my systems set to light electric and gain set to 10.0 and still cannot get the trailer brakes to lockup at 20MPH. Seems to be OK stopping up to 15MPH but can definitely feel the trailer brakes...

    Towing Help (urgent)

Agree with with what others have stated above. Is the 7000Lb trailer the Dry Weight or the GVWR?? That makes a world of difference. I tow a Sunset Trail 262BH, 30' TT that has a 5600lbs Dry weight and 7500 GVWR - actual tow weight is about 6600lbs. My truck is similar to yours, and it...

    First Tow Report with TT

We went on our first long trip with new Truck and TT, figured I would post up a quick Tow Report. Total round trip was 382 miles from Northern RI to Woodstock VT, according to the Trucks onboard MPG meter we averaged about 10.9 MPG towing. I was a bit concerned about how the truck would...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

Just signed papers today on a 2019 Bighorn CC, 4x4 5.7, Level 2 equip, etc.... MSRP was 52,100. I negotiated dealer to 39,900 ( not including, Tax, Title, fees) which included the $500 incentive for going with the FCA financing, which I think was 5.57% for 72 months. In the end I decided...

TT & 5th Gen Ram Towing Sanity Check

Thanks for all the replies and the sanity check. What are your thoughts on the Rear end - should I go for the 3.92 or is the 3.21 "good enough" and maybe gets me a bit better fuel economy when not towing?
