I thought about doing a swap on my Limited since I'm doing a de-chrome and would be getting a grill painted anyway. With the release of the blacked out 2020 Limited I think I might just order a black grille from that. It's probably going to be more durable than a painted one.
I did mine with Plastidip. Just mask off a box about an inch away from the emblem and spray several coats (I do around 6 because you want it to be thick). When it's dry you just peel the Plastidip off your paint and it'll cut itself all around the emblem. Check out some tutorials on Youtube.
Well I decided to have the dealer do my swap because knowing my luck I would've broken something even with the suction cup method. Turns out they broke my passenger side mirror regardless, but replaced it for free. Cost me $60 for the mirror covers and $60 for the labor. I'm satisfied!
I use it all the time. It's especially useful for me since my prior vehicles have all been sedans or coupes and I'm not used to a full-size truck. I was wishing that I could use it when parking forward, but just learned about the shortcut trick from this thread.

I just decided to order the black OEM ones after talking with the coating guys. If anyone is interested in my chrome ones let me know, they've been on the truck a little over a week.
