Texas....boat is in Dallas but heads to Galveston every weekend. Hence my gas mileage needing to get better. With the 1500, I was over payload capacity and 90% of tow capacity. With the 2500, I have over 50% tow capacity to spare and 600 lbs of free payload to spare. Had been renting 3/4 ton...
Traded in the ram 1500 as the gas mileage was killing me towing this 9000# combo....the Cummins is all but tow mule and whips the boat and trailer around like it’s not there.....Glad I made the jump.
My dealer said they sold 65 ram trucks last month (June), which is usually 30 trucks this time of year. FCA is practically giving them away....good for current buyers....but how does this affect current owners that paid a lot more for the same truck a year ago or a few quarters ago? Talking...
Too much sense......
@RamCares , please push the feedback to whomever can help, let's make this update available to download to a USB stick and have the consumer perform their own upgrade. The most tech advanced truck should have basic concepts behind infotainment software upgrades.. not a trip...
Took a 2019 RAM 2500 Mega limited out for a test drive yesterday. It was spec'd to the top with every possible option and 4.10 rear axle. The hemi was unbelievably powerful and the 8 speed was a perfect match. Rear space was as big as my '19 1500, if not bigger. But, as noted on this thread, it...
Gear ratio is 3.21. I use the truck for anything under 100 miles to tow the boat. For any longer distance or my bi-annual vacations to Florida, I rent a 3/4 ton.
The air bags are a must in my case. Tongue weight is 950lbs and the squat would be unbearable with the standard coils. I am running...
Let’s say you rent one for 10 days. That’s around $1100. Fuel is a wash as you’d need to fill up if it was yours anyway.
For me, that was a cheaper route than getting into a 2500, diesel uplift cost vs buying the 1500.......just an option!
Have you considered getting the ram 1500 for your daily driving/local stuff and then renting an HD diesel for your twice/three times a year longer trips? I do that all the time with my 9000# boat/trailer. Locally, my RAM 1500 handles great.. but anything over 150 miles, I rent a diesel truck...
@Dpoole6131 almost exactly my experience. Siriusxm saying it’s a ram problem and they will credit my account until ram fixes the issue. @RamCares anything we can validate here if it’s true? Is there a known issue with the 360 L radios?
Doesn’t seem logical that it only happens after the one...
My 1 year trial ended today and I subscribed to the Sirius xm select plan...same issue now, stuck at preview channel called and they upgraded me to all access plan, still stuck at preview and every channel says “upgrade plan to listen”....so after two hours of waiting on refresh signal, I gave...
Why send a PM? I just need a TSB that I, along with others, can reference with the dealer? this is a known issue and for the cost of the truck, it should be proactively addressed. Not hidden so that others can go through the same misery.
Alex,
Can you give me an exact TSB that I can reference (with revision letter) to the dealer so that they don't argue that this is news to them? My fronts squeel like a welfare wagon. 17K miles and have taken it in 4 times and all they do is say they don't know what the issue is or not...
Ram needs to do a recall on the brakes. I have the same issue and not a single dealer in Dallas, Texas is aware of squealing 2019 1500 brakes yet every other person has the problem. Why isn’t this a recall and why should we have to chase it?
Posted in the pulsar thread to see if anyone else having the same issue. Running the performance tune, which requires 91+ octane. It does advance the timing a bit.
Took off the pulsar edge and will monitor for the next few tanks.
