    Preventive Maintenance Tips

I have done this over the years, especially when I have owned a diesel truck. When having routine oil change, tire rotation, I would also insist on having the computer codes dumped and analyzed for abnormalities or notices. I have caught looming issues this way, which has saved me much grief. I...

Fuel fill pipe opening dropped behind the fender - WTH?

The new bracket part has arrived at the dealer and I have an appointment on Friday to get this fixed. I will be sure to mention the hose clamp fitting tightness issue noted elsewhere. Everything on the fuel tank assembly will be checked.

Fuel fill pipe opening dropped behind the fender - WTH?

This may seem odd, but maybe others have had this happen. The fuel filler pipe dropped behind the fender on my new Ram truck. At the gas station, I flipped open the fuel door, and the Fuel tank pipe opening was gone! Looking through the hole in rubber bladder which surrounded it, I could see...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Just realize that this tent when broken down into its bag is very long. You would want a rack system on your topper to transport it. Somewhere around 7 - 8 feet. I’ll get a measurement tomorrow since it is in storage and edit this post with the actual length. Edit —> actual length is 82” or...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

I have a couple of options for the trailer to adjust for campsite limitations. One, I have the ARB awning which was purchased with the trailer. That you can see extending from the side of the trailer in the picture behind my Rebel. When in a tight campsite, or shorter term, I use that overhang...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

You have mentioned a possible desire for an off road style camper - you may be interested in this camper out of MN - they do deliver - many options - reasonably priced - better lead times than others. Escapade Campers.com I purchased one last year & love it. Store it in a 10x20 rental storage...

Post your avg MPG on your Rebel

Last tank, (Truck now at 1,700 miles), was 19.9 mpg, measured manually. Mostly highway on this tank. Running 87 octane fuel with 10% ethanol. 6 cyl w/ eTorque. Been leaving the stop / start button off; not noticing much lag on take off. Love this truck, so far.

    Power folding mirror broken

Not good news for me that they are finicky- I need to fold in my mirrors to get my truck in the garage. I’ll keep pushing that magic button - so far, so good.

    Post your Rebel pics!

Only additional thing I want to add are wheel well liners in back; my truck did not come with them. Trying to keep it a relatively stock truck; but we all think that, then . . .

    Rebels with Nerfbars/sidesteps

N-Fab 3 step - received with some chipped paint and missing hardware - but I patched it nicely. Also plugged the open ends with 1/2“ clean rubber cow mat material. Small drain slots in the plugs if I need it. I though rubber could expand and contract with the weather. Held in by contact cement...

Spare Tire Replacement To Larger Size 35"

My last truck was a lifted Nissan Frontier with 20”x9” rims. I bought it used that way. The prior owner who set it up, did NOT buy a 5th spare rim. I developed a very tiny crack in one of the 4 rims I had. 4 wheeling can be tough on rims. Yes, I could have had it welded, but I hunt remote places...

Rebel vs. Off Road Package vs. DIY

My first Dodge of any kind is the 2020 Rebel I recently purchased. I was coming from a Nissan Frontier Pro4x w/ 6” FabTech lift, 20” rims, etc. A decent 4x4 - I can honestly say I never got stuck with it hunting all over TX, CO, NE, WY and home in WI. But, both factory and after market parts...

    Skip e-torque?

Fin5033 - yes, it is standard on the 6 cyl - but many were commenting on E/T features as a technology. I have come to find the stop / start assist of E/T works for me, and took away the cuss of not having a V8 to get the truck rolling. plus, if I did not want E/T; I could only choose an 8 cyl...

    Skip e-torque?

I have the 6 cyl w/ et. I like it for the smoother “stop / start” operation. Our old Jeep Cherokee, and current Ford Edge have only an engine stop /start setup, and the time lag of those at stop signs drove me nuts, so I always shut them off. This truck is much more responsive off the line with...
