well, the 5100s went on. At this point, 98,000 miles, and I've replaced all the fluids, got new Bilstein 5100s on, and put new tires on it. it GLIDES down the road. Like a new truck....
OK - think we have a plan. Got the necessary parts, and a shop that'll help me out (the shop I had just do all the fluids wanted over double for the parts that I could buy them from Amazon...same parts... ).
Why does American Trucks say that their instructions for suspension "exclude Rebel and...
much appreciated. Yeah... ball joints are shot. she squeaks a little when it rocks, so I know at least one is shot. might as well handle all that stuff - it's time.
Again... I'm learning.
At this point, I'm going for "replace what was there". the lift just ain't happenin'. Got hit with some other stuff recently. fun times.
next dumb question.
Again, I know my limitations. And I appreciate the input from those wiser than me on this topic. I'm comfortable with electrical, comms, electronics... but this is a little out of my wheelhouse at the moment.

Well, at the moment I'm looking at "what do I need to do to be stock" - sounds like the next response has most of it. UCAs, tie rod ends, sway bar end links, and shocks. I see "position: Front" - again... idiots guide - are they the same on all four corners?
Got enough life stuff...
97k miles... probably time to do a few maintenance items... suspension time. tires... I'll wall on my sword here and admit my ignorance. time to learn something.
I'm seeing a lot of people going to the 5100s - I'm an electrical guy, so learning here. been a long time since I did the...
I’m at the shop now buttoning up details.
It is fully functional. We are dealing with the Striker pins right now as the last “big” detail (need some trim pieces still).
Except for the striker pins, it’s plug and play as long as your donor is fully functional.
We came to the same basic conclusion. I was considering making them with a 1/2" - 3/4" notch to make them adjustable, but I think that's what we're planning.
We're still awaiting some parts - a mid-gate striker, weather caps for the MFT frame, and interior bed liner covers.
Do you have photos...
ok, found another problem.
For some reason, the MFT trucks have the tailgate catch 1" farther forward on the truck than the standard tailgate catches. There's enough space between the frame and the bedside to fab up a bracket to relocate the stud (some welding...), which would allow...
I haven’t found any Alpha OBD settings for it. Right now everything seems to work but I do know that I have a bad actuator. As far as I can tell if one of the actuators for doors is bad it won’t try and open that door.
