When you say changing the OEM switch, do you literally mean swapping out that rubber button on the light itself? Or are you just adding a switch between the lights and the harness

I did some searching and it appears that everyone either wires the OEM bed lights up to the computer (the proper way), or they tap into the cargo light. I don't want them to come on when I open the doors/tailgate. I only want them on when I press the button on the light itself. My question...

For a 2wd... you have the perfect option: CST 4" Spindle Lift. That, extended front brake lines, some 2" spacers in the rear, and extended rear shocks and you're golden.
