Thanks for your replies-
Realize this is "5thgenrams" -but when I googled for applicable forums your 4th gen forum appeared the most active so, here I am LOL.
If there's a better forum to post on, LMK and I'll move along! :)
?
Can only assume that right?
Post is in 4th Gen forum -expect 4th Gen owners do stop by here right? LOL
Surprised there weren't a few 4th Gen responses with feedback on this topic.
Mike, thanks for your reply-
Whine in reverse was very obvious on the first truck -55 thread views and no responses from anyone familiar with that whine.
Leads me to agree w/Red at this point: red flag.
3.55 happened to be on the first truck I looked at -do very little towing so would be fine...
Test drive on another 2021 with 3.55 gears today-
Not exact 1:1 test -this truck had the anti-spin rear diff.
Slight intermittent whine in reverse -not as loud or consistent as the other truck.
Note: whine from both trucks was at a normal/reasonable speed in reverse.
Going to get an opinion...
"bump"
Maybe I exceeded the Q limit on this forum LOL-anyway, assumed this is an EZ Q(?)
Common for a 3.55 differential to whine in reverse?
Any opinions appreciated.
Had telcon with salesman regarding a 38Kmi truck on their lot that Carfax shows oil changes done at their dealership at 8,600 to 10,200 mile intervals.
Recommended interval=8Kmi, and the more applicable recommended interval for this truck may have been 3.5-5K miles since it has a Class IV hitch...
Test drove a 2021 Classic Warlock V6 4X4 today: 33,000 miles, 3.55 differential.
Carfax and inspection indicate the truck has been well-maintained.
After 15" on the road, shifted into reverse and heard a distinct whine while backing from what sounded like the differential.
Didn't sound horrible...
Confusing stuff -maybe the intent of their wording-
The release said "Stellantis launches SPOTiCAR" and the release reads like a Stellantis warranty program.
Weird business decision to compete with Maxcare.
Regardless, thanks again for confirming that SPOTiCAR should be avoided!
Have always avoided white b/c I run my vehicles into the ground, and white shows rust.
A 2021 Classic Warlock I'm looking at is white-
Aware that the hood/tailgate are aluminum -is rust generally less of a concern on Ram trucks than years ago?
Any experience/feedback appreciated.
Darksteel, thanks for your reply-
Confirms my perception: scam.
Weird that it was announced as a "Stellantis Warranty" yet not offered by all RAM dealers near me except that one.
Shopping a dozen RAM dealers nearby -only one offers "SPOTiCAR" CPO warranty on 2021 Classic Warlocks I'm searching.
Stellantis' "SPOTiCAR" warranty was introduced in the USA last year -first launched in Europe in 2019 across 11 countries...
Rick 3478, thanks for your reply-
There are dozens of these 2021's available around here -focusing on Ram dealers first.
Generally 20-35Kmi, and none appear to be molested toys in the posted pics.
Almost all are 3.21 rear axle, a couple 3.55's. All have 8spd Auto 850RE trans.
Settled on...
