Most manufacturers have pulled back from EVs, other than the EV car companiesike Tesla, Lucid, rivian. And most auto shows anymore are basically just cars from local dealer lots. You don't get many concept or pre-production cars being shown off anymore
Oil isn't going to cause the timing chain to stretch. And there isn't any significant difference in sheer strength from a modern 20 weight to a 30 weight. In fact, a 5w-30 will sheer easier than a 5w-20. I'm guessing you didn't watch the video I posted either.
Even an "updated" book won't list the H8 as fitting the 1500s because they came from factory with H7, so that's what they are going to tell you they can install. It's easy to change a battery. Buy some basic hand tools and do it yourself.
It's odd you even bring up timing chain as that was an issue on the early Gen 3 Hemis(when 5w-30 was recommended )but has not been a significant issue with the lighter oils.
The quality of the oil you use determines how well it will protect your engine more so than the viscosity index of it.
It all depends on what is causing it. Could be several things causing the issue. You can either take it to a shop/dealer to be diagnosed, or just start throwing parts at it until you get to the one causing issue
That triple F-30 is pretty cool. Do you take it to any tractor shows? My parents are part of the national IH Collector's club. Would be cool to see that at the national Red Power Round up.
With those outside temps, and assuming you park outside, it's going to take a while for the transmission to warm up. My drive to and from work is only about 10-15 minutes. Transmission doesn't get about 160 on the drive in winter. Longer trips and it actually runs warmer, in the 190-195 range...
Were you trying to add fluid with engine running? The engine needs to be running so the transmission pump is pumping fluid for proper level.
And you did a drain and fill not a flush.
No quick fix. Either buy a new seat cover or you can try a repair place. I'm getting mine repaired again after the first one came off. Company called Fibernew. I have a warranty on my seats from a protection package I had done when I first got it.
My dad has almost all the letter series Farmalls, multiple 1980 and older Cub Cadet learn tractors, including a 60s Original my grandfather bought brand new. And a few Cub Low Boys. I own a couple, but he keeps them
