    That darn Duramax

Thanks Dusty... Pretty much nailed it. Whichever route I take, I’m going to happy,. It’s just a tough decision because this will be the second most expensive purchase of my life and I’m nearly 50 years old. I’ve never bought a car over 40k and my boat was less than 30K. There are discounts...

    That darn Duramax

I didn’t intend on this thread becoming so adversarial , but that being said, it has been informative and I appreciate the feedback. I certainly wasn’t advocating one product over the other. I love both trucks. I was simply pointing out there are opportunity costs with both. The Ram has very...

    That darn Duramax

I appreciate this viewpoint. I would absolutely go with the ED or a loaded gas Ram if I were seeing a substantial price differential. I was literally preparing a written (email) offer to my Ram dealer when I decided to go drive the GM. A couple observations... 1. I get that a diesel has for...

    That darn Duramax

I hear you man...The Chevy parts bin runs deep. That’s why I was pretty sure on the Ram....but that Duramax is a great motor considering it’s only a $2500 upgrade. If I can find a Ram dealer to be a little more aggressive on their dealer discount, I will buy the ED...right now its between a gas...

    That darn Duramax

I did Neuro.... I enjoyed it very much, but honestly, the Duramax was a smoother engine as well as quicker. The ED tows about 800 pounds more, but I’ll never have a boat that weighs more than 9000 pounds. Also the premium cost for the EcoDiesel was greater than the GMC. A Ram limited with ED...

    That darn Duramax

I was days away from ordering a Limited Ram eTorque, when I decided to at least go look at a GMC because I think they are very pretty trucks on the outside, and my Dad was a Chevy guy. I won’t comment on the interior because I think it’s been covered over and over again by every media outlet. It...

    Price negotiated from MSRP

As an aside, remember that whenever you see a "XXXXX package value savings", completely disregard it. Its all smoke and mirrors. It has nothing to do with the invoice or the sticker. Ford dealers are notorious for advertising a MSRP that doesn't include this "package savings" so it appears you...

2019 Ram 19-Speaker Harman Kardon® Premium Sound system

A bit of a thread revival so my apologies. I am looking at purchasing this month, and my biggest dilemma is whether to spring for level 2 on a Laramie. It’s not a great bang for your buck package- it essentially gives you four items that level one doesn’t. It’s a horrible bang for you buck if...

Why is Laramie Equip Level 2 so expensive?

I’m just confused, the HK thread talks about how there was an update to the amp that made it pretty sweet (louder), but I’ve read that there are people with their 2020 models as well who are also disappointed in the volume, which I assume has this firmware already pre loaded upon delivery...

What is the" Engine Calibration" on the 2020 window sticker?

I was comparing sticker prices tonight and noticed that the 2020's with the 5.7 have a listing at the end of their sticker that lists "Engine Calibration" as a no cost option. The 2019's don't have this on the stickers I saw. When I say sticker, I mean the web version of the monroney sticker...

Why is Laramie Equip Level 2 so expensive?

I was just about to post a thread asking if anyone thought level 2 was worth it when I found this thread. I mean, $2900 for 4 things and most people don't even use factory nav! Anyway... I was pretty sure I was going to go with the Level 2 UNTIL I started to read reviews of the HK on this...

Is the Limited Less Expensive Than the Laramie Longhorn?

A 3rd reason would be my predicament... Need to carry 6 people a few times a year when we head to the lake. Wish I could get a limited because I agree, bang for the buck, it contains more value per dollar than a loaded Laramie, but I can’t get a front bench in the two higher trims.
