I haven't read this thread in a loooong time. But here it is, still going.
The 5.7 Hemi produces significant torque, so it's not like the 3.21 equipped trucks start hunting for lower gears at the slightest incline (at least not in my experience with eTorque). If I'm careful with the throttle, I...
I just got that email too. I'm a bit suspicious as it didn't go to my current email address for mopar.com or SiriusXM Guardian. I don't click on links in dubious email, especially unrequested solicitations.
ETA: I went through the process of checking for the update outside of the email links...
Magneti Marelli. They've been doing the electrification (KERS) in Formula 1 racing for years.
FCA recently sold the company to Calsonic Kansei in Japan. https://www.motortrend.com/news/fca-sells-magneti-marelli-parts-business-for-7-1-billion/
Who said I was talking about you?
I've read the entire thread, but thanks for the feedback, captain condescension. Not sure who you think you are talking to with that attitude. Does somebody need a hug?
The green vehicle article was simply that. It was one of many articles and is not the source of record for FCA. FCA explains what the functions of eTorque are and why they designed it that way. If you let a single article about a subject from a source you don't like determine what you think...
Not true. It adds load on the crank (while recovering energy for the batteries) on upshifting so the transmission clutches don't take the brunt of the shift load which increases both heat and wear.
ETA: Now that I'm all caught up on the thread, thanks to a number of folks that helped in...
No problems at all with my 2019.
Variable brake pressure to restart isn't a feature? [emoji12] I use it like one.
I really like eTorque. Will be interesting to see how the system reduces wear on the transmission and brakes.
If there were a lot of problems with their system, we'd know about...
Got my 2nd service today and the cabin air filter was filthy... Again. 13K miles, so 8K on this cabin filter.
Seems like the cabin air filters are effective, but they need to be changed often in dusty environments.
Engine air cleaner stays cleaner.
Those vehicles run all day, every day. Not a quick trip to/from the city twice a day. Diesel emissions requirements are also different in Europe.
No need to run premium gas here in CO.
Most modern diesel dependability has been adversely impacted by our emissions requirements.
IMO, either go...
There's a path I use to leave my neighborhood where I have a stop sign and my truck is pointing up a hill. When the truck is cold, it's a little sluggish taking off and turning left. Happens every time, so I expect it.
I figure it's normal since the transmission functions so fantastically when...
I really like it and I had to pay more than $200 for it. After living with it, you realize how the subtle inputs smooth out shifting, allow the truck to stay in ECO longer and more often, and provide some 'engine braking' during energy recovery. I'll be interested in seeing what kind of...
